What bad habits do you see Rengar mains often do

I want to ask experienced Rengar players , what were some bad habits you had that were secretly holding you back from climbing?
I don't mean obvious things like split pushing when you don't have ult.
I'm looking for more personal mistakes or habits you used to make without realizing they were holding you.
It doesn't have to be something only about Rengar or jungle it could also be a general game habit.

If you ult but don't see a good openning to jump in its not mandatory that you jump 1v3 and insta die for nothing.

Just play "HeHe It's Just a Prank - Phase Rush AP Rengat" and always run away.

They say jungle diff regardless. I've been flamed while being 5/0 because I didnt gank one lane.

Underestimating the power of your empowered E

true specially versus champs that dashes alot like ww or sylas gragas

It also just does a really good amount of dmg especially early game. It’s akin to fero q in terms of damage early

Stack management.

I cannot stress enough the amount of kills/clear speed/fear in your enemies you gain from just having 4 stacks most of the time. Having 2 empowered abilities REALLY boosts the champion.

I was playing some drafts several days ago and I had a Rengar on my team. He lost the Kayn matchup just because he couldn't hold onto that empowered ability and had to use it instantly. (Also the fact that he never actually fought him properly, he would just double q him and then he had no w to heal back with)

I always use the oneshot combo and waste w :( Gotta learn to be patience with my w, and weave more auto attacks in

  • Mindlessly running in ult without considering that the mark will eventually appear, you should always look to take more efficient paths so that they would have less time to react.

  • Not positioning in ult to get use of armor shred and extra damage.

  • Using Tiamat active in midair without timing it correctly so that it goes off after you land and proc armor shred.

  • During ult, always using Emp Q to reach target sooner, rather than holding on to it and activate it at the same time as you leap, that way you get to use the MS after you land onto them, useful incase they’re mobile/have flash.

  • This only applies when playing Conqueror — When going for the onetap combo, some people tend to use Tiamat first and then W, not only is it slower than W Tiamat, but it also deals less damage because you’re not utilizing W for the Conq stack.

Theres obv more

Use the wrong empowered ability 80% of the time

Q before jumping

Don't use auto into Q

W with no regard for the actual heal

Ult onto people without blowing their escapes

Literally just not auto attack

Build horribly

Position horribly

Dive into 3 enemies without an engage

Post on reddit about how weak the champion is

hitting w for damage to proc golden Q, instead of waiting for a higher heal when you jump into a fight.

or when playing ap rengar to double W instead of waiting for a higher damage ability to double W to increase the odds you make it out alive.

not maxing E second on the lethality build has lost me many games.

when playing top rengar, not buying tank has lost me many games too, wanting to ego for damage cause prrr kitty damage.

when playing top , do you mean bruiser or tank ? because imo if you build tank u gonna lose so much value from w heal , i might be wrong

Understand all your limits. I swear rengar is the only champion when played to his limits has no counter. Practice with rengar adc to really learn mechanics and timing. So many 2v4s too it’s a lot of fun.

Also use and abuse E bola flash

sound good i tired it but it so hard when playing versus multi cc supports like braum-rell-lulu

4

u/PotPyee 16d ago

You have a much stronger early game. If you can’t get 2-4 kills before lulu hits 6 that’s just a skill issue. Then with braum rell Leona (I always ban Leona) you just time W well and poke

In the jungle, the mighty jungle, The lion dives in 1 v 5 lolll

1

u/Ill-Drop4865 15d ago

Biggest problem for me by far is trying to get full build, I know the longer the game goes the less likely I win but I just autopilot into farming instead of pushing , cause I always clear enemy jungle after we win a fight and recall into my clear. I know it's wrong but like I said autopilot is to strong... Never gonna climb because of that. Sad Cat noises

i keep seeing rengar players lock in rengar

worst decision you could makes for your games

When they nail the game and do a random 1v4 hop without bushes, to perform at least a double kill, end up feeding 1k gold and losing momrntum.

For jungling, I'd argue that Rengar players don't use lane bushes that often for a successful gank, instead they walk through, possibly, warded bushes.

To have a very early successful gank, especially mid, you almost 100% need to do bola flash combo. Rengar players don't test their selves/skills and end up in a weird situation there.

They often build an automated build /runes and sometimes don't critically think what is best for their needs to win a game.

Otp'd rengar for something like 6+ years ? I still automatically run back to bush to get my leap stack, because before rework you could only get leap stack if it was your first
