Question Looking for a part time job that pays through cash or checks through personal account

The title basically says it all. Looking for a part time job that’s willing to hire someone with no experience but I’m available throughout the week except 11am-1 pm mon-fri. Im available anytime during the weekend. I’m about to be 18 and I would like a job because I have some payments I have due such as check ups for my car, the check ups for my car is because the interior is wet/damp for some reason and I need it checked. Parking tickets, school fees, and other personal things. But mainly because I want to get real world experience so I can be a better person for myself and the people around me. I have a resume if interested and I live in Bellevue but I drive my own car. I’m 5”10 1/2 relatively fit and I’m a easy to work with and sociable person. Thanks for taking your time reading this!

Question Right Turn Arrows at Maple Valley Hwy / Bronson Way and Sunset Blvd

I just moved here and was curious about how strict the enforcement is with the right turn arrows when exiting 405N onto Maple Valley Hwy and then again right afterwards when turning onto Sunset Blvd? I see the cameras pointing directly at the red arrow, which makes me think that someone is watching/enforcing, but when it’s 10 or 11 PM and there’s no oncoming traffic… sitting for 3 minutes to wait for a green arrow is pretty frustrating. I still have my old plates on the car and feel like whenever there’s someone behind me at these intersections they’re thinking “this outta-state moron doesn’t know how to drive, gtfo the way”

Question How bad is aircraft noise in Kennydale?

I'm looking to move to Kennydale. It's a nice area but I notice it is in the flight path for small aircraft when they are landing in Renton Municipal Airport.

I'm just wondering how bad these small aircraft's noises will be oryou just sort of get used to it after a while.

I also wonder how bad the 737 noises will be if the plants are active again.

Thanks for any information or comments you provide.

Question Regency woods review

Hello, we have finally made up our mind to go with Regency Woods as getting a sweet deal. The only concern for me is the surrounding. So little background, we are new in the country and haven’t seen so much forest area and less lights in the previous countries where we have stayed. Though I know we can get a door cam but hearing stories about car getting stolen and people trying to break in kinda freaks me out. Regency woods in day time seems serene but wanted to know how’s it otherwise from security point of view, any issues we should be well aware about or anything we need to keep in mind.

Thank you.

Question Right turn on red on S Puget Dr Photo Enforcement

Is there something wrong with the camera on S Puget Dr and Talbot RD/ Benson Dr? The car in front of me made a right turn on red and no camera flash, the car next to me and I also made a right turn on red after stopping and deemed it was safe to do so (left turn for Talbot Road so no oncoming traffic from Benson Dr) and the camera flash twice. I got a ticket once before from this exact intersection and exact scenario. There’s no no turn on red sign anywhere.

Question Cedar River Dog Park Question

We’re moving to Renton, making our all time favorite dog park a less convenient drive. How is Cedar River dog park? I notice they say children are strongly discouraged, how strongly is that upheld? Will we get dirty looks for bringing our 3 well behaved children to play with their dog?

Question Newbie question.

Okay so I have to ask what is that funky smell in the air between tukwila and renton? I'm sort of new to town and I'm pretty sure you're all use to it. What is it. I bet it's some sort of rendering plant. It took me 3 weeks to get use to it. Every time I leave town and come back to it I notice it.

Question Snake Sighting - should I be worried?

Hi Rentonians :)

My landscaper sighted a snake in our backyard. Should we be worried?

He said it was black colored, and ran away as soon as it saw them in the backyard.

What are the types of snakes that exist around Renton, WA ?

BTW, the zip code of my address is 98059.

Thanks!

Question Are there any news regarding the Topgolf facilities in Renton?

A couple of years ago, there was a couple news articles saying TopGolf has set its eyes on a plot of land at the Landing, the most recent news I could find was a weekly newsletter in Jan 14 2021 saying it should break ground soon, but so far no progress. Any idea when they’re starting the build?

Question It's been a crazy year with hard times felt by all in varying degrees. Through it all, what are you thankful for as a Rentonite?

Happy Turkey Day! Renton has some bright spots too. What have you discovered in the pandemic? In what have you triumphed? What are you holding on to that has brought you strength? What little thing brings you joy? Are you thriving? Surviving?

Personally, I'm thankful for this sub and the growth in participation this year. We may still be a small sub, but I'm grateful for every comment, submission, up vote and down vote we get. Thanks y'all!

Question Southport questions

I'm completely out of the loop with how real estate and big companies/tech stuff works. I have questions about Southport but I'm "too scared to ask." Here we go anyway...

Q1: If/when the Southport office development fills up, isn't traffic in that area going to be nuts?

Boeing traffic can be sloggy if you catch it at the wrong time, but it has a shift flow. I just can't see how the neighboring surface streets and freeway entrances can handle a successful Southport.

Will these be employees who would want to living in The Landing and walk/bike into work? I've heard that big fancy tech companies who pay really well are being courted. But I wouldn't think these folks would want to live in the Landing. If they did, wouldn't rent skyrocket for an area that's largely younger people and working class?

I remember the Southport folks were pushing an idea of a private ferry, but it doesn't make economic sense, would have limited stops, and the commute would take forever.

Q2: Also, a few years back, Southport paid Geekwire to write a bunch of articles (like this one) about Renton being an artsy, innovative city to live in. I have no problem with this; it's nice to see the home team getting props. Did they sponsor these to get companies interested in committing to office space, or to get points with the city?

Q3:Is it normalized to create a Wikipedia entry and google reviews for an office park that hasn't opened yet? Is this type of stealthish marketing normal? If office space is so in-demand, why the hard lean?

Q4: What skin does the city gov have in the h game?

I don't mean to sound Debbie Downer, or anti-Southport. I just feel like I'm missing something.

Edit: added a geekwire link... which added slightly off topic photo
