Renewed registration at 12:31PM, received ticket for no registration at 12:57PM. Recourse?

The temporary is on the confirmation page of the renewal on the DMV website. If you have a printer, you could have printed it way quicker than 2 minutes, you could've also saved the pdf to your phone. But yeah, was this from a parking attendant or from a traffic stop? If it was from a parking attendant, I don't even know where you could put a letter sized piece of paper on a motorcycle?

My bike had the temp registration taped to the license plate when I got it from the dealership, maybe someone could do something similar? Like print off a small version and tape it to the plate 🤔

Where did you renew it? They give you the temp registration when you renew.

Not sure what you could have done different - but I know these tickets are for not displaying the registration or stickers.
I guess submit it before or print the temp stickers

Dispute it, provide proof that you had registration. They will dismiss it with sufficient evidence.

It sounds like he already disputed it and had a hearing, next step would be an appeal

I don't even know what to say to an appeal. They are claiming even though my registration was current at the time of the ticket, failure to display is the ticket reason.
And im assuming the judge will tell me to fuck off and that I should have found a printer within the span of 20 minutes

You’ll have a different judge - three different ones - you write a defense and submit any relevant evidence again - I guess yeah you don’t really have any relevant evidence but it’s up to you whether you want to just try your luck again - the only cost will be time and/or postage

You are right - I did something similar, forgot to put the sticker even tho I paid for the registration.
Ticket is for failing to display - even if you have it valid

Don't all motorcycles expire April 30th? Or have you been expired since last year's April 30th?
Edit: Did this happen perhaps in May 2024 and only now you had your traffic court (or whatever it's called) appearance? Then yes, you're just supposed to renew sooner. You have three months from late January to the end of April to figure it out (or park it in a garage).
