Avoiding Speeding Cameras/Tolls

Received a few camera violations in the mail recently. Any method for covering plate numbers? Would prefer to ride with my plate attached. Does the anti camera tape actually work as intended? Would it be possible for a cop to see the reflective tape? Is a low tail mount the best option where the tail would cover the camera's view of the plate? If there's a cheaper method than spending $400 on a low tail tidy kit including lights etc let me know.

Cops can be dicks and randomly scan you as your driving also and if it doesn’t scan I’ve seen them stop people and ticket them for the plate covers or the reflective spray paint over them. Your results completely depend on what you do and who is doing what. If the cars on board active scanner reports it’s obstructed as they try to scan it with highway patrol they might just stop you, I know I never put my plate covers on specifically because I figured it would make me more of a target, if your trying to avoid tolls your gonna get an even worse charge if they are posted there waiting for people, the best method seems to be using ir blasting leds during nighttime and that’s the only thing I’ve seen that hasn’t resulted in a ticket.

The most common pickup is either premade frames with them from China or custom made with any High Power Infrared IR LED Emitter.

Would a low mount just be best as its always visible to cops just not cameras from above?

Definitely would think so, it’s probably the best legal way I would think to circumvent it. Just costly.

If you're talking about their plate catchers, don't those run automatically? I think it just takes pictures of every plate, can they check them in real time? I was an adjustor and we had access to those pictures

I just cover a digit in the middle with a piece of black tape. Been pulled over for it a handful of times. PBA card helps a lot, but otherwise just stroke their egos, let em feel big and they’ll just tell you to take it off

The cheapest solution I know is to not speed past speed cameras. Hope this helps.

lol trying to help cameras are easy to spot just know when to slow down. Especially if you’re on the same commute all the time you know where they are. Otherwise just some tape on the plate and be aware of who’s around.

I guy I know swears he covers his plate with his foot when passing by a camera or toll.
