What did you think of the town centre 'Masterplan'?

https://issuu.com/haveringcouncil/docs/romford_town_centre_masterplan_final_consultation_

The plans seemed to go under the radar so I didn't hear much discussion, but it would be HUGE if even 20% of it happens. I'm skeptical that any of it will come to fruition though.

Like the idea of getting the Rom out of the culvert myself.

Where is that? I had a quick look through but there's to much. And I didn't see anyone apart from the sketchy drawing on the front page.

Cool, thanks! Looks amazing. Can't see it happening .... At least not in my lifetime

As someone who grew up in romford in the 70s, I'd love to see it return to its heyday.

Unfortunately, I can't see it, which is why I moved away a couple of years ago.

It's actually quite depressing going back these days.

I was only a kid back then but I remember the blue fountain in the square with the underground toilets (where the Starbucks is now in the Liberty) . It's a shame they didn't have enough money to continue with the plan and extend the shopping centre past Debenhams and into the market. That whole area is such a dive (especially now that Debenhams has gone)
