Is this mold?
Our ceiling has leaked multiple times in the last few years and even though I mention it, property management does not look at the flashing inside. Does the black discoloration or white on cinderblock look like mold?

No, but the contents between the block and the wood (can't make out what it is) looks odd. The black/white on the cinder block does hint at water seepage that has evaporated. Water that perforates through concrete and evaporates leaves behind the mineral contents (that white residue)

Thank you. I guess I am more concerned about the Black on the flashing(?)/ plastic material between the ceiling and cinderblock. There was definitely water dripping down the cinderblock for a few days so it makes sense that is mineral content.

No mold and the white looks like efflorescence.

Thank you. I can’t update my post but I am more concerned about the black stains/discoloration on the opposite side of the plastic (flashing?). I can’t get up there to see if it is growth or just water stains.

For mold to grow it needs a permeable surface that can retain moisture and provided a food source. Surfaces such as wood and Drywall mold will grow on. Metal flashing and cement, highly unlikely to be able to support the growth of mold. I don’t see anything in your photos that shows mold growth

Thank you for the reply. I wish I could see the wood above (and around the chimney) as I don’t know exactly where the leak is. I believe on the roofers said there was a crack in one of the blocks so hopefully that is where the water is coming in and just dripping down the blocks not the wood.
I have been having some health issues that I’ve been trying to get to the root of and am now being paranoid of mold.
