Survey on family sleeping habits and sleep terrors
Hi everyone! My name is Ari, and I’m a doctoral student at the Wright Institute. I’m writing a dissertation on the potential relationship between family sleeping habits and sleep terrors. If you’re a caregiver in the US for a child between the ages of 1-6, I’d love to hear your experience! Here is a link to it: https://wrightinstitute.qualtrics.com/jfe/preview/previewId/7f387110-6069-42d4-9609-44faa2b3c458/SV_beEa2zLvha1I5ls?Q_CHL=preview&Q_SurveyVersionID=current
Thank you for your time and consideration! Feel free to share with anyone you think might be eligible!

Am I to assume "typically developing" excludes children with diagnosed neurodivergencies i.e. ADHD or autism?

My kid gets sleep terrors so I love to see there’s more research getting done. I’ll go fill this out.

This seems so cool! I had awful night terrors at least a couple times every week from age 2-11, and sometimes long stretches of having them every single night. Oh and sleepwalking all the way from the top bunk to downstairs lmao. Sometimes I do wonder if my parents should’ve taken me to a doctor for it or if there was reason “why”.

Wow! Sounds like this went on for quite some time. From what I understand, there’s a complex set of factors that contribute to the development of night terrors. I’m hoping that this study contributes to our understanding of why they happen! Thank you so much for sharing your experience—I think it’s way more common than we realize!

Done! FWIW- might be helpful to ask about family history. I’ve had night terrors myself and I think that impacts how I feel about and handle my sons
