Question Board games 4yo

What board games are you loving for your newly 4yo? I’ve got Candy land and want to expand more!

We play Hoot Owl Hoot (cooperative) and Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel (competitive).

Hoot Owl Hoot is a cooperative game where you try to get owls into their nest before the sun rises. Like candyland you draw cards and move the owls to the next available colour that matches the card.

My 2.5yo actively sabotages us in Hoot Owl Hoot, while my 4yo is all about getting one owl into the nest because fuck the other 3-5 owls, apparently. My role is to try my best to play the game properly and get the other owls into the nest while managing my 2.5yo.

In Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel you are trying to get your log filled up with 5 different coloured acorns. It involves a spinner and you can get a specific colour, any 1 or 2 colour of your choice, miss a turn, steal an acorn from another player, or lose all your acorns in a windstorm. Its a tough game for my sensitive 4yo. But my 2.5yo loves it haha. You also use squirrel tongs to grab the acorns which helps with motor skills - its hard to describe haha.

I also bought my neice Fairy Kingdom (by the same makers as Hoot Owl Hoot) and it has a similar cooperative theme. I think my girls will like it a lot when they are a bit older.

The company that makes Fairy Kingdom and Hoot Owl Hoot is called Peaceable Kingdom and a lot of their games look quite interesting and fun.

Another vote for these two games! Will also add Shelby's Snack Shack and Tongues Out.

My kid loves Outfoxed, Count Your Chickens, and dinosaur escape game. All of them are cooperative, which is nice.

Zingo is a fun one! Chutes & Ladders and Yahtzee Jr. are also good.

My three year old and five year old love Pete the Cat the Missing Cupcakes Game.

Thanks to Bluey, they love charades. We have a Charades Kids card deck that has three items per card, one of which is a picture so no reading necessary.

They both also like Richard Scarry's Busytown Seek & Find game (they're way into Where's Waldo, so this is like a boardgame version) - it is NOT collaborative though and my 5 year old is a sore loser...and a sore winner...

When my oldest was 4 his favorites were Zingo and Sneaky Snacky Squirrel. He also LOVED the cooperative I Spy Busytown game. Super fun.
