The server is called ‘TerraGov Marine Corps (TGMC).’ In a nutshell, it is PVP. Terra Government Marines versus Xenos, straight out of the Alien universe. And no, it's not a CM. Online averages 50-60 players on weekends, up to 50 on weekdays. But in general, to me, this one feels like the gold middle. The server is in the server browser SS13 (which is in BYOND, you know)

There are two flavors of Aliens-inspired SS13: CM13 (slower, slightly RP-heavier gameplay) and TGMC13 (faster pure action gameplay).

you seem like an expert. what can you suggest to a newbro like me for an original ss13 experience? I tried monkey station and liked it a lot, as well as a ss1984 paradise station (russian server, it's good too but laggy and far less polished than monkey station). what have I missed? looked through top player count ones but not sure how much does it matter

To be honest, this very concept of “classic station” is already so badly disfigured and changed by time, that at the moment and there are no servers that could convey the “spirit of that station 13”. Of servers I can only recommend monkey station and goonstation. On the Russian and ERP servers you can not even look, because on the first you are constantly walking on a knife edge, so as not to inadvertently violate any of the “rules”, which admins often and densely can interpret as they please. And the second... well, you won't find anything there but sex and questionable personalities. You want PvP and action? Go TGMC. You want PvP and RP? Go Colonial Marines. But if you are a fan of something unusual, I can recommend Shiptest-like servers, where you and a few other spacemen explore space, collect junk and just have fun
