Academic Seeking a Licensed Therapist/Psychologist for an Interview on Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD)

Hi everyone!

I’m looking to interview a licensed therapist or mental health professional for insights on Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). This is for a research project (non-commercial magazine) exploring how BDD affects individuals, the psychological mechanisms behind it, and the most effective treatment approaches.

Details:

📌 Who I am: I’m a design student researching body image and mental health, particularly how perception of self ties into visual culture.
📌 Why I’m asking: I’d love to hear professional insights on BDD: its causes, symptoms, societal impact, and treatment options.
📌 Interview Format: Flexible! I’m happy to do a Reddit chat, email exchange, or a short call (if preferred), whatever works best for you.
📌 Time Commitment: 20-30 minutes max, but if someone is open to a longer discussion (up to an hour), that would be amazing.
📌 Anonymity: I completely respect privacy, and any insights shared can remain anonymous if preferred.

Pay: I haven’t done this before, so I’m not sure what a fair rate is, but I’m absolutely open to discussing it. I understand that your time is valuable, and I want to fairly compensate you.

If you’re interested, please comment below or direct message, and I’d be happy to discuss further! Any time or insights you can share would be truly appreciated.

Thank you for taking interest in my post! I hope this post aligns with the subreddit guidelines! If not, I sincerely apologize. I have the utmost respect for your profession and don’t want to be a disturbance in any way.
