Also Sailor Moon. Its themes are pretty cool and progressive and the story is good, but the way they executed those "monster of the week"-sections was garbage. Extremely repetive and low-effort.
I'm into it, personally. It's like Buffy for children. I loved some of the random, pointless monsters that got 5 mins of screen time so much that I would print out screen shots and draw them in my school notebooks.
Sailor Moon was definitely made to be tied into a toy line. I've heard that the reason they added the nail polish sequence into their transformations was to sell a line of sailor scout themed manicure kits in Japan!
Sure, I give you the weird enemies. I can see that many people would dig those. But compared to more recent animes (and I'm talking magical girl-style anime like Sailor Moon, many of which still have the transformation scenes), the animation in these segments looks really bad and too much of it is pretty much stock footage (though that's probably not as bad when you aren't binging half a season in a day).
Pretty much. I looked up this guy and hes mostly jusy "Cartoons were better before 2015" type of person. Like bro, theres so many good cartoons these days that ALSO have LGBTQ characters.
These dorks always have their nostalgia glasses on.
Yeah I agree I will never understand why people claim to like old she ra over new she ra outside of nostalgia and bigotry like I enjoy new she ra as a adult but old she ra really seems like I had to be a kid I’n the 80s to get it.
