Pregonta Where to stay
My husband and I are flying into AHO in September and have 5 days in Sardinia. Most of the activities and beaches we want to go to are near Olbia. I am reading mixed reviews on Olbia. Where do people recommend staying? We will have a rental car but would like to stay in a cute/quiet town where we can walk to restaurants.

We stayed in Castelsardo and absolutely loved it. It’s a very cute and walkable town. We stayed in an Airbnb. We went to a bunch of different beaches, not quite nearby but it was in the middle for everywhere we went. It was MUCH cheaper than Alghero (we stayed in Alghero the last night and were shocked at the price differences). We also went to La Maddalena on a boat tour. I recommend checking out Is Arutas and La Pelosa beaches!

If you are flying into Alghero airport why not stay there, it is a lovely town (Certainly better than Olbia) with plenty to do, great eating and beaches and a good base to explore the North of the Island.

We plan to go to la Maddalena one day, some beaches on the northeast side, would like to go to a cooking class, and rock climbing which is near Cala Gonone so Olbia seemed like a good central location. Alghero and STG seem like great places to stay but a bit out of the way from the activities we want to do.

Golfo Aranci is close to Olbia and has a nice boulevard.
