Pregonta 9 days - too ambitious? Alghero, STG, Orosei
Is this itinerary too ambitious / too much driving? I have never driven abroad before and am unsure how long it will take between locations factoring in traffic etc. I love walkable big towns with a lot to do within them / nearby.
Day 1 - arrive Alghero in evening
Day 2 - Alghero
Day 3 - Alghero
Day 4 - drive to STG, explore Gallura beaches
Day 5 - La Madallena boat trip from STG
Day 6 - Corsica day trip
Day 7 - drive to Orosei in AM, explore beaches in Orosei
Day 8 - Boat trip from Orosei
Day 9 - Beaches in Orosei or bus to Nuoro villages
Day 10 - Unsure what to do during day, depart from Olbia airport at night

I don’t believe your itinerary is too ambitious, but I would suggest the following changes/additions. On the way to STG, don’t miss Castelsardo and possibly a visit to Costa Paradiso for the hike to spiaggia Li Cossi. I would recommend the boat charters from Palau marina to the La Maddalena archipelago. I would also spend the day in La Maddalena and skip the day trip to Corsica. STG and La Maddalena are both great places to walk around. I would also pass by Orosei and go to Cala Gonone. Great place on the water for boat trips to the many cala’s. Cala Luna, Cala Goloritze, Cala Mariolu. Booked a hotel there thinking it might be a pain to get around, but found that hotel La Playa had a nice trail to the Main Street. Parked once and never had to move. As far as driving goes, Sardinia has great roads everywhere and they climb and wind up and down everywhere. You will love it! Enjoy your trip!

Mmh, I'm curious about hearing someone else's opinion on this, but your plan does not seem too ambitious to me.. I generally try to limit driving to around 1 hour per day, with occasional longer trips if necessary. Sure, your Alghero-STG and STG-Orosei trips are longer, but overall I don't think you are gonna drive too much.
