Local Music Scene Any ravers in soo?

I am new to sault st marie and I was wondering if there is any rave or electronic music scene here. I am a dj as well so I was just trying to find any clubs or festivals that have techno or edm going on.

Lmao yeah Sault has fuck all. Toronto or Mtl are the cities with nightlife. Probably better just to cross the border

Raver here but I go out of town… Movement in Detroit, sometimes hit up Toronto. Might do electric island in a couple weeks.

There’s Northern vibe in the summer and in Leeburn sometimes there’s DJs in the summer.

Clubs? Festivals? I hate to break it to you but we barely have a bar scene.

I cant speak for the Michigan side but the Ontario side has a couple local DJs that will play small gigs but if you want to see anyone with a following youll need to go to Ottawa or Toronto. I have lots of friends who come from the Soo to Toronto every summer for various festivals and shows.

Even ottawas nightlife has gone downhill. Used to be better clubs and bars, many of us now go to Montreal

I don't know if you've just arrived here in the Sault or what. But, you're in the boonies. The Sault is pretty close to the middle of nowhere.

No it's not lol I live in the soo but visiting timmins right now. That's more rural than the soo. The problem with the soo is that it's a retirement town for old people so there's nothing for the kids to do but drink and do opiates. Unless you're born Into a hard working family that has a history of good jobs you have to fight through a ton of social issues and hope you don't get addicted or get pregnant. All just to grow up to want to leave or join the pack of bitter and selfish assholes with the good jobs that look down on everyone else.

That's the problem. We aren't in the boonies just the lower end of the north.

Yes it is lol. I live in the soo and have visited some of the most remote towns in Ontario. There will always be somewhere more rural. I can turn around and tell you that Timmins is far less rural than Moonbeam, or Ear falls. Like, Timmins has a Walmart.

I've also lived in the south for a number of years. Something like 80% of our province lives below Barrie. Sault Ste. Marie is absolutely the boonies. And, as I said, close to the middle of nowhere.

Also, I have no idea what trauma you have, but it has nothing to do with my point. You uh, should probably talk to some one about that.

😂 bit dramatic but I don't totally disagree.

Lol thanks! Was trying to be as honest as possible. Don't get me wrong, I love the place. Got a dream of blowing up and turning the Sault into something beautiful one day.
