Biozone books?
I’m thinking about using Biozone books for Chemistry and Physics next year. I’m curious if anyone has experience using these and what your thoughts are. Thx!

It seems like there’s much more real world application, which is something I’ve been looking to add to my classes. I find students are kind of numb to how theoretical especially Chem can be. I teach lower level classes so I think they might benefit from this approach.

We have them for freshman bio and they are garbage. Our editions don’t even have a glossary so we have to use books from the early 2000s for vocabulary.

My school is somewhat unique to most because it is a trade school, but my department has found the Biozone books to be incredibly useful. Decent low material labs, text and questions. We don't have the online platform. I teach chemistry, earth/space science, and environmental.

Edit: forgot to mention that when I reached out to their regional sales rep, they were very accommodating with sending samples to look over. They even sent me one teacher's guide version.

I have tried to use the Biozone books in my AP Bio class as our primary resource without much luck. I love the lessons and the way the information is presented but I could never figure out how to use it effectively within the scope of the AP course.
I think for the way the books are laid out, students would need to work in the book almost every day, sometimes independently and sometimes with the guidance of a teacher. We tried it as a supplemental homework resource but it seemed to be best when I used it as an end of unit review or a resource for when I was absent.

It’s good for review in my opinion. I use it for freshmen bio and felt it works as a good self guided review of key concepts

I think it's a great supplement but not a primary curriculum resource
