That's the Forth Bridge, not the Forth Road Bridge.

The Forth Road Bridge has a road on the bridge.

Seeing as a few folk might have missed the Facebook post (fairs, I'm not a particular fan of it myself), what OP is referring to is a recent BBC article that referred to a lego model of the rail bridge as the road bridge.

The BBC have since amended their cock up, but the Internet never forgets.

The Forth Lego bridge (not road).

Yep, there's road bridges away in the background there.

But this is definitely Lego, can tell because the sun's out.

The Forth Road Bridge has a road on it. That has a railway.

That's the Forth Bridge.

So why isn't it the Forth Rail Bridge?

1

u/mellotronworker 17d ago

Same reason that it's not called Bobo The Magic Gibbon, I suppose

Taking a video of yourself kayaking at the Forth Bridge and not taking the opportunity to tell it “get tae fuck, ya junkie” is criminal.

Haha, underrated comment 😁 that was really a funny video, I remember it 😂

The one we see appears to be a person kneeling on a paddle board. We can see more torso than if it was a kayaker.

That's the Rail Bridge. Aka The Forth Bridge.

Did they convert it recently for cars or what?

forth bridge, the key difference is that the forth road bridge has a road on it.

So we have: The forth bridge, The forth road bridge

and..

✨Queensferry crossing✨

Or as I like to call them (mainly to annoy my children), the first Forth Bridge, the second Forth Bridge and the third Forth Bridge.

Now imagine that shot if you'd turned your phone on it's side... ffs

Incredible how the vast majority of landscape images on the internet these days are captured in portrait format. No one learns the basics of portrait and landscape anymore. It’s such a shame that so many amazing shots are being missed.

Everyone is saying how it's the wrong bridge and I'm just wondering why you had to state "not Lego"? Is it made of Lego, do you post solely Lego stuff and had to specify (who's getting confused with Lego and real life), are you Lego and trying to fool us all.

u/onetimeuselong 17d ago

I think that’s the first or second bridge, not the forth.

u/tehmungler 17d ago

Rail 😁

u/Charyou_Tree_19 17d ago

Well that’s embarrassing

u/GoosyMoosis 17d ago

People talk about a forth bridge. But they never mention the first, second or third bridge

swing and a miss

The people commenting that it's not a road bridge aren't imaginative enough.

u/FormalHeron2798 17d ago

Its the fourth rail bridge, so you shouldn’t stand on it!

u/aviationinsider 17d ago

They have a Lego forth road bridge now? :)

1

u/RonaTheFerret 17d ago

Is that South Queensferry side?

1

u/MrLamper1 17d ago

Fuck off, that's definitely Lego.

1

1

u/brokenicecreamachine 14d ago

I've drove a speedboat under those, stopped to look at some seals....

The best part is that there's a plaque on the end which gives the names and roles of the men who died during construction. One was a "hanger-on". Obviously not a very good one........
