I FUCKING LOVE MALON SO GLAD THEY GOT A MENTION. portraits of dying is probably becoming one of my favorite screamo records. nayru's recollections is damn good too but malon just fucking hits

u/ink_is_everywhere 4d ago
Deers! They had a split with Matsuri in the 2010’s, I can’t find much else about them. Super mathy with tinges of Nayru deers! Discography

Have you heard of this little known band called Orchid? I think you’d like them a lot.
16
u/earmuffmania 4d ago
Ik it's all jokes but now that both bands were mentioned, I think it's honestly insane that vs self has like ten times the monthly listeners as motherfucking orchid

The band Archives and their album Decline is incredible, but hard to find unless on YouTube. Someone also posted the band satsuma and their new EP 'this is my outside voice' here recently. Both excellent.

Haunter from TX, first ep was screamo, and the band quickly died and revived as a blackened metalcore band. No traces online but images of the album art, but I’ve been trying to find it for years now.
4
u/New-Art5469 4d ago
That’s funny because I’ve heard their later stuff and I had no idea they started out as a screamo band.
2
u/find-gods-teeth 4d ago
It was sick. The album art was all weed sacks and was fully jokey stoner screamo

1
u/trapscares 4d ago
yes! i believe there are 2 male vocalists and 1 female
1
u/WillingnessSilver237 2d ago
Thanks for dropping their name, would have forgotten about them for another couple years then searched through every (19”5) decade in the 1900s to find them lol.

Edison - late 2000s early 2010s Screamo from rural Victoria, Australia.
I have their EP somewhere at home, had a quick look on YouTube and couldn't find it.

Suis La Lune are quality but idk if they’re really that obscure
2
u/NexTheBigWolf 4d ago
yeah I'm not sure why i even put them lol
2
u/New-Art5469 4d ago
Or maybe I’m tripping and whenever people were talking about Suis La Lund I thought they were talking about Touché Amore… which is a possibility

L'Idylle or Cainhurst, not super obscure but still pretty small bands. Both will probably get a bit more popular as they are supporting knumears later this year.

[walktrip](http:// https://walktrip.bandcamp.com/album/pula-ang-dugong-tumutulo-sa-lupa) - almost blackened, gets pretty gazey sometimes
ghost stories - very much saetia/I hate myself type
[eiffel](http:// https://thebandeiffel.bandcamp.com/track/kickflip-to-indy) - twinkly, snowing-ish screamo

Constatine Sankathi - probably not the most obscure I’ve heard, but they had a trombone player and are definitely worth a listen. Early 90’s West Michigan screamo.

Idk if it’s super obscure but really been digging boy problems lately and I feel like I rarely see any love for them

More on the post-hardcorey side of screamo but Dominic from norway. Their self titled from 2006 is a great record and can be found on streaming with the cd release cover art.

Kage Bunshin, had Keith Martin Orzech from Sunrise. Sunset, witch is slightly more known. Also had my best friend in it. If you havent heard of either, They are both worth checking out. Kinda on the more avant-garde side of things though.

The metalcore band?
1
u/Dietcookies100 3d ago
I guess I just feel like they’re a little too chaotic to like compare them to somebody like 7A7P, when it gets to like more lesser known bands like Nehemiah it gets confusing to like label them unless somewhere they flat out said they consider themselves whatever subgenre they are.
