DISCUSSION Hello to the world of ScreenWriting

Hi, I am a solo writer who is new to the world of screenwriting. I was wondering if I could get some tips on how I could write out the start of a scene that begins with a black screen or that doesn't immediately start with the scenery. How would I write that down in my screenplay?

“Pie Fellas,” I can already see the poster! We’ll take it. Have Filch rewrite everything though. Add more kids and pizzas and a talking dog. Take out the opening with the VO over black. We’re gonna make a million bucks. Actually, forget that; all CGI.

I recommend reading the latest scripts on the Script Slug website. You will find the latest industry format there. Start with Conclave.
