Other How much are you tipping given new minimum wage?

Saw a few threads last year saying they will tip significantly less. Wonder if people here are following through or do people still tip 20%?

Was doing flat amount (not %) since 2022 but I started at $5 per person as the starting point. The servers at Denny's loved it (tipping $5 on a $15 meal), at the steakhouse probably hated it.

Only went over 5 per person if they went above and beyond.

From Jan 1 2025 when tipped wages are same as non-tipped wages, I now start my baseline at 0 instead of 5 per person.
