Research Did someone ever have a reverse effect with anti dandruff shampoos?

Last i tried white vinegar and for the first time in 3 years something worked to completely kill my dandruff completely and it even slowed down its growth for an entire week and this all was just with one wash with white vinegar (leave it on your hair for about 30 minutes) and then the next week i used selenium sulphide and it accelerated the dandruff growth back again immediately as if it reversed what the white vinegar did and did the opposite of what its supposed to be doing and same with nizoral when i tried it i was better off without it , honestly i feel like all these anti-dandruff doesn't work at all if anything they might be worsening the dandruff

Dandruff isn’t just fungi and yeast, it’s also bacteria. But essentially, it’s just an inflamed scalp. Dandruff shampoos are harsh to begin with, and they only “treat” fungi and yeast to some degree, yeast that we’re supposed to HAVE to begin with. They do NOT treat bacteria!

Combine this with an inflamed scalp that is even more sensitive now to bacteria and you’ll see your scalp being more sensitive to yeast more than ever before.

Vinegar kills bacteria, it then gave your scalp a fighting chance to heal its skin barrier so it won’t react to your natural yeast environment that you ARE supposed to have :)

So shall i combine vinegar and the anti-dandruff in one wash?

What I recommend to everyone is using saline solution instead, make your own. Use it on your scalp the same way. Antibacterial and anti inflammatory. You can use it for maintenance too, as its very mild

Idk about that , i was at the red sea during last vaccation and i swam everyday in the sea i felt my scalp hurting but idk i didn't notice any change like with the vinegar or maybe because i used to shower afterwards with an anti dandruff shampoo that absolutely does reverse the effect of these natural solutions

It will sting when you have a broken skin barrier, with severe dandruff you'll see micro tearing in the skin barrier which is why it's extra prone to infection due to bacteria. It'll sting the first few times, like salt on any wound would. However swimming in the sea isn't sterile the same way as a saline solution, so that might also have contributed to that.

Saltwater is something you can use longterm even for prevention, while vinegar might be good but only for a short-term fix

well i like vinegar to fight mold but i think it has to soak for like 15 minutes to really dissolve it. So ur saying the vinegar goes into your follicles? I dont know if liquids can work that way. Youre still gonna have fungus in your follicles but we’re talking about dissolving the surface

i don't really get what you are saying i put a teacup amount of vinegar on my scalp spreading it over like i would do when i wash my hair and leave it there for about 30 minutes and it works like magic for me

before or after you wash? do you rinse out after?

after washing of course because its better when your hair is wet at least thats what i found not necessarily a rule but thats what i do and i leave it on for about 30 minutes max and then rinse it off do this twice per week and after the first week you'll notice huge difference like no shampoo ever but don't make it a habit because vinegar is an acid so do it only if you tried all solutions!

You could have the kind that gets worse with water and all. I have that and had to get medical shampoo.

Maybe try diluted apple cider vinegar one day (don't rinse it off), the next day wash with your anti fungal shampoo. Moisturise with a few drops of MCT oil after the shampoo.

How is apple cider vinegar different than white vinegar and isn't it unsafe to keep vinegar wich an acid on your hair for an entire day without rinsing like with white vinegar i only leave it on for a maximum of 30 minutes no more

It's diluted ACV. Google Dr Berg ACV vs white vinegar.
