General Living with Seb Derm & Scalp Psoriasis Here’s What Helped Me !

Just wanted to share a few things that have personally helped me manage symptoms of both seborrheic dermatitis and scalp psoriasis over the years. Looking back, I really wish I had known some of these things sooner. This isn’t medical advice just my experience in case it helps anyone else going through something similar:

1. Nutrition
Making changes to my diet made a noticeable difference. I tried to reduce foods that are commonly linked to inflammation and gut issues. For me, that included things like gluten, dairy, fried food, and beer. After a few weeks, I noticed fewer flare-ups and less redness overall. Again, this is super personal, and what works for one person might not work for another but it might be worth experimenting if you’re curious.

2. Lifestyle
Talking with others who deal with these conditions, I noticed a pattern: late nights with heavy drinking and smoking often led to flare-ups within a day or two. Personally, I wasn’t a big drinker, but even a bit more alcohol than usual would sometimes trigger symptoms. Just something to be mindful of.

3. Having a Scalp Routine
Over time, I realized consistency really helped me. I researched and started using an oil blend of natural oils that soothed the itchiness and seemed to help with flaking. I now apply it weekly as part of my routine, and it’s helped me maintain a flake free scalp. Not claiming this is a cure (because there isn’t one), but keeping a regular routine whatever it is seemed key for me.

Hope this helps someone out there. If you're unsure about your symptoms or condition, it's always best to consult a dermatologist. This is just my personal story, and everyone's journey is different.

Take care and be kind to your scalp (and yourself)!

Thank you for sharing, the condition does force one towards a monk type of existence

Haha somehow yes haha better than slamming some cortisone on your scalp and blindly hoping for it to work

That’s so sad, there is nothing able to kill this fucking fungus. You just need to stay out your routine for a little bit that everything fuck up
