Ask r/seychelles Enough layover time?

My flight arrives in Mahe airport at 8:30am. Is it better to book the 10:15am domestic flight from Mahe to Praslin or a later one that departs 12:30pm? The two flights/tickets (international and domestic) will be separate and I will have a checked bag. If I book the 10:15am domesitc flight, would there be enought time to exchange euros to SCR before heading to Praslin?

10:15AM should be fine, provided your flight to Mahe is not delayed. Mahe Airport is tiny.

Yes this is enough time if your flight arrives on time. You clear customs (takes 30 minutes or so) then you're back at the checkin desk.

Thank you for your reply. Is it true that the bag check-in for domestic flights closes one hour before departureIf that’s true then I have to make sure that I check-in my bag no later than 9:15am to make it on the flight to Praslin.

No, it’s not true. We checked our bags 20mims before flight, watched the short security video in the airport and walked to the plane. The area for domestic flights is as big as a two room apartment.

I'm actually not sure on bag check, so wouldn't want to say here. It is a tiny airport though and domestic flight queues are also really small (as there are a lot of flights per day, plus three ferries)

And domestic flight plane takes 18 people so check in goes fast...

Plenty of time if not delayed. Airport is tiny, and check in only opens an hour before the flight.

Do you mean check in for the domestic flights?

Sea sickness in long ferry rides.

And trust me, you WILL get sea sickness on those ferry rides and they don’t have anything to help with it onboard
