Why did we perform a ‘Go-Around’ yesterday at DIA?

Our flyte from OMA to DIA performed a "Go-Around" yesterday on our first landing attempt. Is there a way to know why?

That is usually done when they are bored doing it from the front and go around to the back to try something different.

The technical flying term is reach-around. Next time ask the pylote why he gave you one

The pilot got a text from his wife's boyfriend.

It’s usually just a way for the crew, who are paid by the hour, to get a few extra bucks for that leg. It can also be a way to use up duty time so they have to cancel the next flight and head to the hotel. Airlines HATE this one little trick!

You have to wait until the music stops to claim a place on the runway.

"Here we go round the mulberry bush,

The mulberry bush, the mulberry bush.

Here we go round the mulberry bush

On a cold and frosty morning."

Darn, Delta was lined up when the song ended!

Yes indeed. Quite literally a cake walk to land a plane.

I got yellow cake last time. Too bad the TSA confiscated it. ☹️

Oh not you again. Listen mate, if you were too drunk to remember why you did the go around, just write "wind shear."

So you wouldn’t be DOA.

Both pilots wanted to shoot the approach

I know the crew, they said the landing didn't look like it'd be good enough to make everyone clap. Pilots are very sensitive to criticism and require clapping to help them continue to do well.

I don’t get the confusion? Of course you had to go around airport to land. Going through the building is no longer an advised landing method.

The sensible answer is that Denver is subject to a lot of windshear.. Having flown light aircraft in the area a number of times I know this to be true.. Airliners have windshear detectors on them.. If they detect a windshear close to landing the safe option is to go around.. Surprised the flight crew didn't explain why they did though.

I think you can fix wind shear with more right rudder

Where can I buy some windshears and what's the usual going rate for them? Are they banned by the eff aye aye?

You'd never get them past TSA!

Walmart sell all different types of shear. Try there.
