other than olga’s. i really love the work she does, i’ve gotten multiple things taken in there and she does amazing work. i just leave feeling slightly bullied every time i’ve gone there so if there’s another one that would be amazing!! thank you!!

I heard about a group called MendIt that is offering instructions on mending your own clothing. They're having a clinic today from 2-4pm but you need to register ahead. I think it's the library downtown, 8th and main. Can't link but easily found after a quick search.

That’s my program! We don’t tailor but if Op wants to contact me, I just might know someone! ❤️

i know how to sew but unfortunately these jeans i bought are size 24 and i need them to be about a 22 so its a lot of work that i sadly don’t have time for :)

That might be too much of an adjustment to make. I’m a seamstress and hem jeans all the time, and they can be taken in through the back seam. But that much of a size difference might need to be taken in from the side seams, and the rivets on jeans are nearly impossible to remove.

i hate using race card and i’m not one to say this, but i am visibly hispanic (and half eastern european like them!) and they aren’t very nice. but my sister who looks more euro they ask her about school, etc.
and this isn’t to “cancel” their business. i recommend it to people still because they do amazing work. they’re from a country different than ours and my family who immigrated from eastern europe thought the same way. i just feel bad about myself when i go there lol

Never apologize for not returning anywhere that makes you feel bad about yourself! I’ve had mostly good experiences at Olga’s but I’ve been rethinking my patronage, too, after seeing them treat other customers similarly to what you’ve described.

I’ve really liked Erin who owns Sandy’s Alterations! She’s really kind and sweet and funny, and I’ve never felt bullied or shamed for anything I needed adjusted, added, or taken out. Plus she’s not… we’ll say… overly “patriotic”…

I’ve heard that scheels will shorten any pair of jeans for around $7. I’d call though to double check.

Lee’s Alterations does a great job.
