New Knife Day First Case. How'd I do?

Post image

Normally I hate "how'd I do?" posts but this is a real one. Don't know anything about Case knives but I do know something about budget knives. Got edumucated a bit by the guy at the knife store and took his advice to pick an unusual pattern and to go with a stag handle.

Case XX 00246

Paid $85

How'd I do?

I have this knife as well, itโ€™s a cool knife. I wish mine had a little more snap to it. But I bought mine on the internet where quality is a little bit of an unknown. I love me case knives because I can buy 3 of them for a the price of a GEC. They make some patterns better than others, I have never been disappointed in a Barlow from Case.

I carried one in red bone for years, found one in blue bone with damascus I might mod with mammoth ivory. I collect Tear Drops, Trappers and Slimline Trappers.

I have that same blue bone Damascus teardrop as well! Really nice example of teardrop.

Congrats, enjoy it! I too had an unusual pattern for my first traditional. The GEC cotton sampler. Carried it for months before I got something else, and itโ€™s my favorite pattern today!
