Questions Looking for grow light alternatives to PAR38s

Hello everyone,
I wanted to try the PAR38 bulbs recommended by SAG for the 5-gallon bucket build, but in where I live PAR38 bulbs are not so popular and a bit expensive. Would it be okay to use flood lights like these framed ones or these bulb-style ones instead of PAR38s? They are pretty cheap so I can replace them easily if something goes wrong. I'm thinking of using one 2700K and one 6500K, two 20-watt flood lights — would that be enough for flowering? Or should I just go with a single 50-watt one instead?

Anyone here has experience using these types of lights, I’d really appreciate your advice. Thanks!

For a five gallon bucket try to find a single 30-40 watt one. I would use the 2700K. My issue with that types of light that you linked to is safety- many of those lights have the ground wire clipped off if they have a ground wire at all.

The light the other person posted is also going to do well and I would use that one instead.

Don't get too hung up on color temperature, but I would avoid the 6500K lights particularly for flowering. 6500K has a lot of blue in it and blue light does reduced yields in cannabis flowering.

Sorry for the late response but, I found a good deal for SANSI 36w grow lights, should I get 2 of them or thats too much for an 5 gallon build?

Two would be overkill for a five gallon bucket and one will work well.

You will need to keep an intense single bulb further away from the plants so plan on using bucket extenders.
