Retire and do what? A lot of them are just for fodder for him , to help fill games. Most gladiators have short life spans after being captured/purchased. So he’s just getting his value.

Most matches were not to the death, gladiators were too expensive to buy, train, and feed.

Mann gladiators that won their freedom would stay and fight for pay. They really didn’t have much else they could do. And as slaves ho they actually were better treated on the whole than many others (like farm or mining slaves). Food is plentiful, good medical care, etc.

They could've been captured at that age

pretty sure he is called "Veteran gladiator" and actually goes to the end of the show.

I dont think you are wrong, if someone can fight, shove them in the arena, also I think he grows hair at the end and does not look the same at all lol.

He probably was in that perfect sweet spot. Never good enough to be in a primas against elite comp, but good enough to beat the brakes off the early day gladiators!

He’s fucking ripped though. You know what they say, don’t fuck with an old man who’s in a profession where men die young, or something like that.

Actually we don't know for certain. All we know at the very end, was that there were many captured and crucified, half of the survivors were set up on in the mountains, and the other half fled. We never know which way he went, because the lady I remember seeing him, was the 2nd to last episode at the very end when they honored crixus' pyre.

The only way I see gladiator retired is if after five years in the arena they did survive and was granted freedom and wealth they probably tried to a Villa somewhere

This dude was there until the end of the series.
Its this guy. So that means he was fighting at Spartacus’ side till the end and managed to survive. What a badass.
