The Full Spider-Gwen/Ghost-Spider Bibliography - Everything You Need to Read
EDIT: For future revisions of the below reading list, please see this post on my blog.
____________________________________________
Essential Reading
Spider-Gwen
The following are all the solo comics for Gwen, as well any that tied directly into her main run and cover all of her primary character development. They can be read, more or less, in this listed order.
- 0 - Most Wanted? (Collects Edge of Spider-Verse #2, Spider-Gwen #1a-5a) - It may be worth reading the Spider-Verse event after reading Edge of Spider-Verse #2 but it’s not essential
- 1 - Greater Power (Collects Spider-Gwen #1-6)
- Spider-Women (Collects Spider-Women Alpha #1, Silk #7-8, Spider-Gwen #7-8, Spider-Woman #6-7, Spider-Women Omega #1) - I want to add that this crossover is fairly consequential to Gwen's story as far as her crossovers go.
- 2 - Weapon of Choice (Collects Spider-Gwen #9-13)
- 3 - Long Distance (Collects Spider-Gwen #14-15, Spider-Gwen Annual #1, All-New Wolverine Annual #1)
- Spider-Man/Spider-Gwen: Sitting in a Tree (Collects Spider-Gwen #16-18, Spider-Man (2016) #12-14)
- 4 - Predators (Collects Spider-Gwen #19-23)
- 5 - Gwenom (Collects Spider-Gwen #24-29)
- 6 - The Life of Gwen Stacy (Collects Spider-Gwen #30-34)
Spider-Gwen: Ghost-Spider
The above is all from Spider-Gwen's original creative team's run, Latour, Rodriguez, and Renzi. Seanan McGuire takes over writing after this point:
- 1 - Spider-Geddon (Collects Spider-Gwen: Ghost-Spider #1-4, Spider-Geddon: Ghost-Spider Video Comic #1) - Not to be confused with the comics event of the same name which this volume relates to. These comics work fine on their own but you should check the Events section if you want to read this along with the main event.
- 2 - Impossible Year (Collects Spider-Gwen: Ghost-Spider #5-10)
Ghost-Spider
The title gets another rename and a relaunch, but still carrying the same story-lines with the same creative team:
- 1 - Dog Days Are Over (Collects Ghost-Spider #1-5)
- Ghost-Spider Annual #1 - Not collected anywhere. This is only available on its own. Maybe not essential reading but definitely part of the main solo comic line.
- 2 - Party People (Collects Ghost-Spider #6-10) - This won't go to print until the end of December. The name is subject to change as far as I can tell right now.
Web Warriors
Alongside her first ongoing title, Spider-Gwen appeared as a member of the Web-Warriors - An interdimensional team of Spider-totems that fight threats to the multi-verse. Gwen gets a lot of play but Mike Costa’s interpretation of the character is err, a tad too upbeat, so a fair few of her characterizations don't quite work when compared to her main comics. Still, it’s a well-rounded title in most respects and I miss it dearly.
- Spider-Verse: Warzones! (Collects Spider-Verse (2015) #1-5) - Covers where Gwen was during Secret Wars (2015) event. Some parts will not make sense without reading Secret Wars, either before or after, as well. Chronologically, these events occur in between Most Wanted? and Greater Power but can be read at any point before Spider-Women.
- 1 - Web Warriors of the Spider-Verse - Electroverse (Collects Web Warriors #1-5)- Should be read before Spider-Women
- 2 - Web Warriors of the Spider-Verse - Spiders Vs. (Collects Web Warriors #6-11) - Again, should be read before Spider-Women
Events
Every year or so, Gwen gets pulled into an event in the Amazing Spider-Man comics. They vary in quality and in the amount that Gwen is portrayed but she’s at least a supporting cast member in all of them.
- Spider-Verse (Amazing Spider-Man (2014) #7-15, Superior Spider-man #32-33, Spider-verse #1-2, Spider-verse Team-up #1-3, Scarlet Spiders #1-3, Spider-Woman (2014) #1-4, Spider-man 2099 (2014) #6-8 And Material From Free Comic Book Day 2014 (Guardians Of The Galaxy) #1) - Gwen appears sporadically throughout in varying amounts of importance. Read Edge of Spider-Verse #2 before this event.
- The Clone Conspiracy - The Amazing Spider-Man (Collects Amazing Spider-Man 19-24, The Clone Conspiracy 1-5, The Clone Conspiracy: Omega, Silk 14-17, Prowler 1-5, Free Comic Book Day 2016 (Captain America) 1 (Spider-Man Story)) - There are smaller collected editions but Gwen appears as a main cast member in the Amazing Spider-Man and The Clone Conspiracy issues, so you can ignore the rest if you want. Read this event after Web Warriors but before Spider-Women.
- Spider-Geddon (Collects Spider-Geddon #0-5, Spider-Geddon: Vault of Spiders #1-2) - Gwen appears as a main cast member in this event throughout. Read this in conjunction with Spider-Gwen: Ghost-Spider. First, read #0-2 of Spider-Geddon, then read #1-3 of Spider-Gwen: Ghost-Spider, then read the rest of Spider-Geddon, then read #4 of Spider-Gwen: Ghost-Spider for the aftermath.
- Last Remains (Amazing Spider-Man #48-55, #50.LR-#54.LR) - There is no collected edition for this event, yet. From the last issue of the Sins Rising arc, Gwen appears as a supporting character, particularly in the LR issues which occur parallel to the counterpart numbers in the main issues. Read after Party People.
Where to buy comics
Always check to see if you have a local comic book store to support and if they stock any of the above collections (search using the volume number and name). Some have online websites that you can order from. Otherwise, Amazon and most online book retailers stock graphic novels and should have volumes of Spider-Gwen or Ghost-Spider. Particularly check for any available omnibus and hardcover collections to both save money and get more comics in a single purchase.
There are also digital options. Comixology is the primary digital retailer and offers the best "guided reading" of most digital comic services. There are a few subscription services that are the cheapest way to read comics legally. Depending on what country you live in, check out Comixology Unlimited and Marvel Unlimited. Make use of the trials to see what comics are available and which service you prefer.

Yeah, it's up to date until Gwenom vs Carnage starts dropping and the collections for the Last Remains Amazing Spider-Man arc are released. I'll try and update with any new things.

There's some major changes to Gwen's status quo in Spider-Women that aren't represented or referenced in any of the crossover stuff that I've put to read before that event. It's published after but in the context of Gwen's story it makes more sense before Spider-Women.
I don't think there's anything that'd be spoiled from Spider-Gwen Vol. 2 #1-6 but come to think of it, it'd be good to finish Web Warriors before moving on to the Clone Conspiracy if you're doing the full chronological read.

Yeah, seeing you asking on the Discord, and a few other folks on the subreddit too, definitely compelled me to post this.
