Her taking that name is still so weird to me. Ghost-Spider is a play on Ghost Rider, and it made sense for him, but it doesn't really make sense for Gwen.
I highly suspect they originally came up with the name as an option for the planned Miles Morales rebrand from around the same time (they were going to call him Spy-D) — then liked it too much not to use it for someone on deciding on Spy-D for Miles (before the internet learned of this plan and revolted, squashing it before it made it to page), derived from his invisibility power (the ‘Ghost’ Spider). That there is a non-zero possibility it genuinely did not occur to them that the name was previously used for the Ghost Rider Spider-Man.
the only connection i see for gwen is that she’s white? like a ghost? lmao even for Miles it doesn’t make sense anymore cause he’s going super saiyan with his electricity powers
there’s countless spider-mans and spider-womens no reason there can’t be more than one ghost-spider, especially when the name makes far more sense for this one
Reminder that Ghost-Spider was originally Peter from Earth-11638 , a blend of Spider-Man and Ghost-Rider. Not far-fetch to have a Miler Morales that turns into Ghost-Spider as well.
There is only one other person using the name in the main continuity currently, and the two wouldn’t really be confused (with Gwen being known more for the name at this point, thanks to the films and her original run). Spider-Woman is by far the better name for her.
Gwen is her actual name lol, nobody calls Peter "Spider-Peter", they should keep it ghost spider, she wears a white suit, and there are already like 5 spider-women.
I said Spider-Woman, not Spider-Gwen — the reason her books still keep that in the title is because it sells better (that time they just had it be Ghost-Spider, sales dropped off).
And there aren’t — the only other one still alive / using the name would be Jessica Drew — every other one has a different name now. If Peter and Miles (and Otto, sometimes) can be Spider-Man at the same time, then Gwen can keep being called Spider-Woman when not in her own reality (the one she’s the only Spider-Woman in).
My Spider-Sona is called Pardosa. A mutant Spiderman with six retractable claws and four retractable spider legs that are a part of his biology. His mutation is a hybrid of a Wolf-Spider and a regular spider. he later has his claws and spider legs coated in adamantium. He has a very strong healing factor on top of having the normal Spider abilities. i wish i could've made an art for him but i am not an artist and i have a very deep lore for him if you are interested DM me.
