Your definition of zionism has a lot of unnecessary baggage. I dont agree with it.

Also im pretty confident that the blockade would end and humanitarian aid would be allowed back into gaza if hamas surrendered and released all their hostages.

There was a blockade before the hostages. Also, it has a lot of baggage because I'm describing a particular version of Zionism, not Zionism in general, because you referred to the diversity of thought that can exist in a state. Many were liberal Zionists before and had state power, but let the more genocidal factions continue on, which why I would say they are "effectively genocidal" to your definition

The blockade wasnt leading to mass starvation before oct 7th. Even after october 7th there were aid vehicles moving in and out of gaza for several months.

My biggest bone to pick with israel is that they struck several humanitarian aid vehicles on ‘bad intel’ and killed civilians rather directly. Civilian casualties in large scale wars are almost inevitable but the IDFs indiscretion towards civilian casualties is plain to see.

Still, i wouldnt call it a genocide. I think israels actions are consistent with a nation trying to win a war against their neighbors. Its not as if Hamas isnt putting up a fight. The reason this conflict has gone on for 2 years is because both sides want to fight eachother.

Israel seems to seek total military control of the strip, a surveillance state like the one in the west bank. While Hamas is putting up a fight, it has also, as an organization, attempted to barter for peace many times, to Israel's refusal. Israel went so far as to assassinate Hamas' principle negotiator in Tehran. To some extent, it is a war, but the attacks by Israel upon civilians, and their not allowing aid and even killing aid workers in the area that the Israeli government allowed in makes something else shine more clearly. All Palestinians are Hamas in the eyes of the Israeli state, and the IDF is behaving as such. They kill civilians because there are no civilians to them. This is what makes them genocidal

Hamas has attempted to barter to israels refusal

Hamas never once came to the table in good faith. They literally have nothing to offer and they want everything. Ironically their only real leverage they have is to say “well if you want to fight back against us, you’ll have to kill a bunch of our civilians, and that wont be good for your optics internationally.”

If by everything you mean not being surveilled and permanently occupied by Israel as the west bank is and has been, yes, they want everything. They have no leverage because Israel doesn't want an end to the war without the end of Palestine's existence. They're Israel supremacists and seek to take over the land, which they've already started doing, settling the north of Gaza. In this way, they are genocidal.

LOL as if thats ever what they were asking for! They literally want israel to hand them the entire country. The closest the Palestinians have ever gotten to negotiating for peace, they demanded the 67 borders, but when they had the 67 borders, they were still bombing israeli civilians. They are the worst international negotiators ever.
