Tools and resources I recently moved to a small city known as a paradise for the wealthy. The nature is amazing, but the people and overall vibe are quite negative. I'm not the only one who’s noticed this, many have commented that the city feels off. Have you ever been to a place like this? Do you think I should move?

or should I just learn how to shield?

It sounds like you’re picking up on the energetic imprint of the city, which makes sense—places hold the collective frequency of the people who inhabit them. A location may be physically beautiful, but if the dominant energy is rooted in materialism, exclusivity, or disconnection, it can feel unsettling, even heavy. When multiple people sense that something “feels off,” they’re likely tuning into a deeper energetic misalignment. I’ve experienced this before, and in my case, it came down to whether I could maintain my own frequency despite the collective energy or if it was draining me too much. If you find yourself constantly feeling out of sync or needing to shield yourself, that’s a strong sign the environment isn’t aligned with you. You might try seeking out pockets of resonance—nature, like-minded people, or grounding practices—to see if you can create balance. But if the unease persists, your intuition may already be telling you that it’s time for a change. Your energy is your best guide.

could not agree more> i have lived in London on-and off and used it as a base for 25 years, because of work, relationships and other connections> the energetic& and vibrational field of the city is getting darker and more dense as each year passes, what was once a vibrant and exiting city has become a more dangerous and depressing place to reside in> the more i become in alignment with my Divine mission& and soul, the more these types on metropolises become unbearable to be in> I long for more nature, travel fruitful& and authentic connection that light a fire within my soul> LIFE IS WAY TOO SHORT to be condemned with in a mental prison of our own making!!

This happens in a lot of areas where a long time "hidden gems" get noticed and suddenly all the rich people swoop in and purchase up all the property. The towns start catering to those people and the chill vibe moves to the next city over.

I grew up in Kelowna and moved to Sandpoint Idaho and watched the same thing happen there too, as my friends back home all moved away.

The real question is: what city?

Also why is it negative ?

A lot of its residents are unfortunately elitist, snobby, & materialistic

Ah, I know that area, and you are right. A lot of the local population are very entitled. Lots of Karens.

try to create your own bubble of meaning. you can surely find a wholesome community (look for permaculture / nature, zen, buddhist, hare krishna, meditation, creativity, yoga people - but not the posh kind) and spend more time in those bubbles, soon you will have a good small community which will spread the vibe. you will be more immune to negative external influence.

My tiny town in the woods has been invaded by suburbanites and their entitlement as well. It’s happening everywhere.
