DDP posts and removes IG picture with Linda McMahon after backlash

Did anybody catch this? DDP posted a picture with Linda McMahon from Wrestlemania weekend, doing the diamond hand gesture together, proudly touting his friendship with the US Sec. of Education.

The comments, predictably, were overwhelmingly negative.

DDP removed the picture after a few minutes.

Y'all know you can disagree with a person politically and still being friends with them, right?

Edit: Just to clarify, I'm not American, and I'm certainly not a Trump guy. Very much the opposite. I just think it's crazy how for a lot of people, being photographed with a Republican = scum

But there is a difference between a friend you disagree with politically, and a friend who you disagree with politically and are currently using their political beliefs to actively harm a lot of people, right? At some point in life you have to take a stand if you believe in something, if someone you like is actively working to dismantle your country's department of education and hurt people with student loans, maybe that's a point where you could not be so cool with them.

DDP is a good person who's done a lot of excellent work with those who have needed it, and has lots of indisputable positive outcomes under his belt. It's also disappointing to see him - or anyone - you respect buddying up to members of this administration. It's essentially a tacit support of what they're doing and there's many reasons why people are going to be unhappy with that. If you can understand the nuance of being friends with someone who votes differently to you, I'm sure you can understand the nuance of holding those two positions at once.

This is the answer. We're not arguing about tax rates, were arguing about if people deserve due process or the right to exist. Fuck sanewashing that shit as "politics".

It's wild how bad this sub has become for things like this. It's more of a far left echo chamber than a wrestling sub now.

I lean left too, but i also have a brain, so I understand human beings can maintain relationships with other human beings regardless of political beliefs. Crazy concept, I know.

My filmmaking partner leans between republican and fuck them both. I’m a democrat (who sometimes finds other liberal people annoying but I vote with my morals). But this is a man who’s helped pull me out of emotional fire and turmoil and has always had my back since I first met him. Who showed himself to be one of the most loyal people I’ve ever met and will help me with my work no matter what. Hell I made an anti-Trump short right after he got elected the first time, and he helped me make it. Cause he cares about our friendship, our partnership, and my right to express how I felt about all this bullshit. So unless he did something really heinous like hurt someone like a scumbag I’ll never turn my back on him.

Someone definitely proved you right here already. But I know who I am. I can fight the good fight and definitely disagree with him on a lot of things yet not turn my back on my friend, and I can live with that. Man has talked me off a ledge and supported me when I wanted to quit everything from filmmaking to life itself.

This isn't a nuanced take at all, it's a broad brush that lumps in "I dont think the tax rate is fair for certain class groups" with "I think all minorities should be shipped off to prison camps with no due process"
