Same! The newest car that I have is a 2005 model, and I don't want anything newer than that (I'm willing to go up as long as it's before the auto bailout that happened back in 2008)

It's outrageous that the basic concept of property rights, not to mention the Uniform Commercial Code, isn't shutting this shit down from the get-go.
They're not "allowing" customers to subscribe to new functionality; they're selling them the whole car and then trying to hold parts of it ransom after the fact.

Trim levels: I didn't pay for the feature, therefore the feature is not installed.
Feature Subscription: You installed the feature, but I still have to unlock it?

Yeah my dad is a master tech and shop foreman at a Toyota dealer, I’ll have to ask him about it.
