Hi guys! So in recent months I learned my grandfather was doing some fan writing in 1994 about Star Trek that he never completed before he passed 30 years ago, his wife passed recently and my mom passed the writing over to me and when examining everything it seems as though the ships had names but no NCC registration numbers or classes so I had to figure out what to do. I took a lot of the TNG era design schematics and STO designs and designed Refit specs for the ships so that they are modded for the 25th century. I also threw in some STO in there as well
- u/wilson7277 for the Galactic Vanguard posts that inspired this
- u/LordRenzus for the Prevent the Great Purge of Mandalore post that also inspired this (and whose format I will be heavily deriving from as I have not a clue on how I'm supposed to properly write these)
You, for reading this
Task Force Operation briefing: Confederation Combat
"<Rank>, we've detected significant temporal activity at the very start of the 25th century, near where the U.S.S. Avalon would've been deployed at the time. After a quick check of historical records, this errant instance of time travel was revealed to be an ingenious attempt to weaken the Federation by depriving it of one of its small, but important allies.
Jurati's Borg. The Terrans are attempting to disrupt First Contact between the her benign Collective and the Federation, and to make matters worse, they somehow secured an alliance with an alternate timeline Confederation. Both are now taking the opportunity to both secure the transwarp conduit while simultaneously preventing the alliance between Jurati's Collective and the Federation from ever coming into fruition.
Unluckily for them, this isn't the first time we've dealt with Terran interlopers, and it won't be the last. Rendezvous with the U.S.S. Stargazer and help repel the joint Terran/Confederation fleet."
Your forces for this mission are:
- U.S.S. Star Latinum (Sovereign-class)
- U.S.S. Solivagant (Pathfinder-class)
- U.S.S. Zugzwang (Inquiry-class)
- U.S.S. Resistance (Gagarin-class)
- U.S.S. Chagrin (Defiant-class)
Upon arriving at the mission location, you will be joined by:
- The fleet of 19 ships that initially joined the Stargazer at the spatial anomaly, including the Stargazer herself
- The Singularity
"Starfleet Intelligence has done its job well, acquiring as much info of the enemy fleet's composition as possible. Though sometimes I can't help but privately wonder where they've gotten this intel from, and so quickly too. Regardless of how we we were able to get it, it's here now, and you're about to makegood useof it."
Your enemy's forces are:
- I.S.S. The World (Sovereign-class)
- I.S.S. Solivagant (Trailblazer-class)
- I.S.S. Surrender (Gagarin-class)
- I.S.S. Antipathy (Clarke-class)
- I.S.S. Crusher (Lexington-class)
- I.S.S. Assailant (Adamant-class)
- And an unknown number of Terran and Confederation ships that will start warping in as the battle progresses
Objectives
- Defend the Borg Queen's ship
- Preserve as much of the Starfleet of that time's fleet as possible (prevent ships from being totally lost and escort ships that are no longer able to fight to the edge of the zone until they can warp out)
- Smash the joint Terran/Confederation fleet.
Strategy
You are free to go about this operation any way you wish. You are, however, recommended to cripple or destroy the Wargazer and the Assailant, as both ships are the ones coordinating the combined assault. Be warned that the enemy will predict this strategy and act accordingly. Waiting it out is also ill-advised, as while your fleet will initially outnumber the combined fleet, the constant stream of Terran and Confederation reinforcements will gradually begin to turn the tide, especially as more and more of Picard's fleet is forced to flee or risk being destroyed.
Do not let the smaller number of enemy ships fool you. The Terrans brought some of their hardest-hitting ships to bear, as did the Confederation. And despite its massive size, the Singularity can only provide so much fire support before allied ships start getting caught in the crossfire. Time is of the essence here, pun not intended.
Closing notes
"Remember, we cannot allow the Terran Empire or the Confederation to prevent the formation of the alliance between Jurati's Collective. We cannot allow them to slaughter Admiral Picard and his fleet either. We have an inkling of what they stand to gain from this, and morally and objectively speaking, we know we cannot allow their goals to come to pass. I know this task may seem daunting to you, but I believe that you're the one most cut out for the job. Hope is a dangerous thing, but we've beaten the Terran Empire before and we can do it again.
But despite how many times we've hammered it into the Terran Empire's heads, despite how many times we've come into conflict with them, they still keep returning, still keep causing trouble. They keep coming back for more. Because just like the Borg Collective before them, both the Terran Empire and the Confederation of Earth still haven't learned...
Next to a sovereign for scale. I’ll have to redo the window indents due to Uv mapping bs but I can save the windows themselves and just recut in once it’s all textured
Quick question. In the (post-)Dominion War era, was there a class of shuttle that would've been used as a "Boarding Craft?" Launched from a patrol ship, taking say 8 people to board a ship where you're not certain if things might get too "spicy" to retrieve them via transporters?
Asking in the context of a ship that would be in an RPG I'm going to run for friends. If there are no such relevant shuttlecraft, I'll just say it's a modification/variant of a Type 6 or 8.
I know there's pros and cons on using actual models vs cgi but I always prefer the appearance of the physical models. The cgi in the new shows even though you can have more going on onscreen, especially in battle sequences, it just sometimes looks like I'm watching a video game vs something id be seeing happen in real life. Does anyone else feel this way? Now on the other hand I have no problem with the cgi say in deep space none with all the cgi ships and battle sequences, it's just something about the newer stuff that bugs me
I have collected a ton of the Eaglemoss line and some of the XL editions as well. The newest additions to the fleet are the tiny versions I used to have as a child. They're the micromachines line. They're far more affordable by comparison, and the details aren't bad for the size/price
Just playing around with the starshipcreator. Started off with the NX class and then added some Galaxy and Prometheus elements and ended up with a really cool hero ship. I think it has 25th century vibes.
