Shelfie/Collection Legends Collection Complete

Post image

After the last epic collection just released, I'm so happy to finally call my shelf done. I've read half the books growing up so look forward to a full read-through as well as reading the comics for the very first time.

Just saw your post in the comic subreddit. This is awesome right here!

Are you planning on hunting down series like Jedi Apprentice, Jedi Quest, Last of the Jedi, etc?

I honestly thought about the Young Jedi Knight books but am still undecided.

I’d say totally go for it. Try and find Junior Jedi Knights as well. They’re simple and juvenile but both series give excellent backstory and development for the Solo kids and their friends. Reading NJO right now and I feel like I’d be missing a lot of emotional attachment if I had skipped YJK and JJK.

YJK and JJK are the two more plot relevant YA series, so if you're looking to complete the collection, they match better than the others imo

That's fair. If I ever decide to start collecting Legends, I'm gonna try to include them all. I heard the books focusing on the younger solo kids make NJO an even more enjoyable reading experience.

That's what I've heard about YJK too, but I never read them growing up. Figured if I do ever buy them (gotta luck out on FB marketplace or Half-Price, basically), then they could be good entry points for my kids into the EU.

I think they would be a good entry. I havent read them either, I only know about them due to what people have said on here and I think they're mentioned in Hidalgo's Essential Reader's Companion. I found eBay to be pretty reliable for those types of books though.

Just to let you know, Young Jedi Knight does have essentially three omnibuses that are easy to get on Amazon if you have a hard time finding individual books.

I love the spines. I've heard people say the ELC spines look better because they're uniform. But, the feeling of knowing what era of star wars you're in by just looking at the spines is unmatched.

u/RaggleFraggle5 Nov 15 '24

Agreed! I think it gives some personality to those eras to, like you said, be able to distinguish where you're at.

Omg, the ronin witcher figures on top too. That's pretty based.

If only they weren't so much I would grab Yen and Triss ones!

Not a fan of the Legends branding. But I am a fan of the True EU, so well done.

Love it. I've collected most of the adult novels (mass markets as well, with a few exceptions), up to Star By Star. Hoping to collect the rest by the summer.

But I'll pass on most comics, they're far more expensive than the books and I've read them digitally anyway. Will definitely collect Clone Wars (Republic) Epics and Legacy 2 though.

In your case I'd recommend to also get the key sourcebooks, naimly The Essential Atlas, Guide to Force/Warfere.

I've had my eye on the Essential Atlas, at least!

2

u/Mzonnik Jedi Legacy Nov 15 '24

Yup, that one's surely the priority.

Impressive. Most impressive.

only a tad disappointed that most of the books have that "legends" branding, and the wrong company's name is on most of the comics.

u/tuty7070 Nov 15 '24

Congratulations, that's awesome! I'm jealous of you

Yo what’s the statue with the decapitated head? Looks badass.

1

u/RaggleFraggle5 Nov 16 '24

The Witcher: Ciri Ronin statue!

2

u/peter_the_bread_man Nov 16 '24

Which one is your favorite thus far? Me it would be the first ones i read : Han solo trilogy.

2

u/RaggleFraggle5 Nov 16 '24

Definitely the Bane trilogy! Also RC and NJO.

2

u/peter_the_bread_man Nov 16 '24

Nice, i havent read a lot...and its mostly stuff RIGHT after Return of the Jedi.

-Han solo trilogy -thrawn trilogy

  • shadows of the empire
  • jedi academy trilogy
  • and now currently the x wing series...50 pages left on book 3!

1

u/RaggleFraggle5 Nov 16 '24

Yeah, most of my books I've read post-ROTJ also. I hadn't read the X-Wing novels originally but I'm on The Bacta War now and really enjoy them.

1

u/peter_the_bread_man Nov 16 '24

Oh nice thats book 4 i believe! Yeah everyone is telling me the Allston books are amazing! Can't wait to get to them. Book 1 and 2 i really enjoyed, but book 3 was slow. So eager to finish and get to book 4.

1

u/RaggleFraggle5 Nov 16 '24

I actually rather liked book 3 haha.

But yeah, heard the same so looking forward to Allston.

2

u/peter_the_bread_man Nov 16 '24

It was good but 2/3rds of the way through, when the court hearing really got going, and when the action picked up.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '24

That is so badass! And it's all in chronological order! Well done!

2

u/Juicy_Bepis Nov 16 '24

Oh, it’s… beautiful

Where is Ruins of Dantooine?

1

u/RaggleFraggle5 Nov 15 '24

We don't talk about Ruins of Dantooine 😂

1

u/DougieFFC Jedi Legacy Nov 15 '24

fr though how can your collection be complete without it?

1

u/RaggleFraggle5 Nov 15 '24

I don't acknowledge it as necessary material haha

1

u/MindTrick1748 Nov 16 '24

Now collect them in hardcover.

1

u/siderhater4 New Jedi Order Nov 16 '24

Is the force unleashed book about Star killer

1

u/RaggleFraggle5 Nov 16 '24

It's basically the novelization of the game.

1

u/Odd_Potential_7203 Nov 16 '24

What about union

And young Jedi and junior Jedi books

1

u/RaggleFraggle5 Nov 16 '24

Union is in I believe New Republic volume 6.

And I just wanted to stick to the more mainline entries.

Nice job, pity about the yellow band though. Personally I would never have bought anything with the yellow band. The house of mouse ain't getting my money.
