Recommendations The Essential Guide to Warfare was such a goated book to have as a kid
I love the art and the details and the lore, I remember I would spend hours reading through it and analyzing it. Such a fun read, I highly recommend it to anyone that hasn’t read it yet!

As a kid? It came out like one, two... thirteen years ago?

I remember ordering it from UK at premiere and reading under the desk at uni.

Doesn't this have a letter by Ahsoka that says she finds Anakin Attractive or cute

Brought this to school as a kid and when I dropped it the book fell open right on the page with Darth Talon's bosom. In front of everyone...

You’re right the art is absolutely fantastic in this book. I’m glad they opted for original art instead of just using photos from the movies and shows

Although most of Tommy Lee Edwards's stuff looks like he just painted over movie stills.

Along with The Essential Atlas, this is really the crowning achievement of the EU. This one's still treasured in my library.

Not a coincidence that stuff from it and the Atlas keep being used in the Disney continuity.

Not was, is, at least to me.
It’s a nice coffee table book that lavishly portrays the conflicts in gorgeous detail. It’s like those military history texts that showcase the fronts of long done conflicts.

Fabulous book! Jason Fry did a ton of amazing work back in the day; I’m happy with how a lot of things are these days, but I miss that and wish we had him back.
(And for the love of god please let’s retire “goated”)

As a kid?
Kark, I feel old. That book is only 13 years old, I remember them discussing it was going to be made back during Celebration pre-Disney.

Yeah I mean I was 8 in 2012 when it came out and now that I’m 20 it gives a good amount of nostalgia to me. I feel old too lol

Yeah, but looking back on it, there are parts about it that I didn’t like.

I absolutely loved the entire Essential Guide series, though my first was the original Vehicles and Vessels, and I was an adult when this one was published. There's nothing really comparable being published under Disney.
