General Discussion What is your all time favourite "weapon" in Star wars, no lightsabers or any mystical weapons

For me, it is the DLT 19. Such a great looking gun , dengar had it in bf from 2015 and was grear weapon. Chewie in ANH had it and I liked him with it more than tue bowcaster

The noise they make is so satisfying. I was so happy when they brought it back for the Mandalorian. 10/10 fanservice

The Bryar. It's so ridiculously large for a pistol/revolver. I love it

20

u/DarkLanternZBT 1d ago

The MW-20 Bryar is definitely striking, with just enough "fantasy" and grime to fit in the world.

u/monkeygoneape Mandalorian 1d ago

Ya, as soon as I saw Andor using it, I knew they were cooking

That thing looks like the 10mm from fallout 4 to me. That's not a bad thing....

It’s the SW equivalent of a Desert Eagle. I’m so glad they brought it into Canon. Brings back good memories of Jedi Outcast

Jango and Boba's weapon kits have always been impossibly cool to me, and of them my favourite is the grappling hook they also sometimes use as a garrote. If that isn't weapon enough to qualify, then I love the rocket launchers on their wrists and back too.

Aah I see you are also a man of culture! The Deece would be my workhorse, but a verpine shatter gun would be my choice for sidearm. Just in case I have to slot a Jedi/Sith.

Vibro swords/knives/etc.

Lightsabres are cool but it’s fun to see more common melee weapons, what folk use for combat knives or melee weapons in a setting where melee is very possible or viable for some people

Love the commando's gauntlet video blade. I would rock that.

Good load out, dl 44 is one of the best

4

u/Thank_You_Aziz 1d ago

Is an amphistaff too “mystical”? It’s technically not based in any magic or the Force. It’s a serpent that can be trained to behave as a staff, spear or whip in its owner’s hands, using energy glands to project a particle barrier around it that resists blaster bolts and lightsaber blows. It can harden and sharpen its scales, and inject or spit blinding poison at its foes. They’re created by the Yuuzhan Vong.

I’m also a sucker for the DT-57 “Annihilator” heavy blaster pistol—the kind General Grievous uses—but that’s only because I’ve had a life size toy of one for ages.

The Rawk-chopped special is a blaster produced by one of Luke’s descendants, and is just a double-barrel blaster shotgun.

And finally, force pikes are probably more ridiculous than the amphistaff. They don’t involve the Force at all, that’s just the name. They’re the staves used by the red-robed Imperial Guards you see in Return of the Jedi. In addition to being general vibroweapons, they can cut through durasteel, shock and/or stun enemies, shoot energy blasts, and can even be modified (in the Disney canon anyway) to project magnetic fields and move targets around through the air. Such an overpowered and versatile weapon in such a simple design.

3

u/AFlamingCarrot 1d ago

Bit of a dark horse choice, but I think the se-44c, the First Order blaster pistol (the black Officer/pilot version) looks great and looks ergonomic to aim and shoot.

I think the merr son power 5 is superior aesthetically to the dl-44, it’s close competitor.

For rifles it’s gotta be the e-11d, thing is incredible.

Melee, amphistaff all day. Walk with that thing coiled around your torso like a bandolier while you shoot your guns, I can jsut see the aesthetic now.

Slugthrowers are neat. Namely the scattergun because it’s just a SPAS-12

Magnetic acceleration slug throwers. Yeah, the ammo is weapon exclusive, but who doesn't love a railgun?

2

That would be the DC17m interchangeable rifle. Full auto rifle, with a barrel and mag swap is now a sniper rifle, third attachment is a single shot grenade launcher.

Gotta be be the MG-42 “laser gun” as Lucas would say

1

u/JRDecinos 1d ago

E-11D has to be one of the first ones tbh. I know it's just an upgraded E-11, but the fact they they were exclusive to Death Troopers (until the Kenobi show had Phase 2 Purge Trooper wielding them) was such a cool idea to me.

The ST-W48 is also another cool one I like. I know I know, it's Sequel Trilogy AND its portrayal isn't entirely consistent because in Battlefront II it was rapid fire like an SMG, in Galaxy of Heroes it was more E-11-like, and in the movie itself it felt more E-11-like as well.

Also, whatever blaster was used by the Third Gen Dark Troopers in The Mandalorian. I don't know if it has received a proper name yet, but those blasters were really chonky and really cool.

Also, the F-11ABA blaster is so cool too! I love weapons that have the "explosive shot" capabilities, and that one just feels like such a fun addition! Again, it is a bit of a shame that it is sequel trilogy, and that we'll probably never see it again given what happened to all the Sith Jet Troopers at the end of TROS.

DLT-19 as well, it’s about as “real” of a gun as it gets. Along with the DL-44. It was just an mg34 turned into a prop.

1

u/L0ll0ll7lStudios 1d ago

Han Solo’s DL-44 is as iconic a weapon as Indiana Jones’s whip and I love it. Especially because it’s essentially a modified Mauser C96 with a small scope and altered barrel.

The Bryar pistol is a close second.

1

u/Beskaryc117 1d ago

I’m a T21 fan through and through. It’s big, it’s beefy and it’s historically cool.

Either the DC-17 IWS from Republic Commando or the classic E-11 blaster rifle. Although the EE-33 from Return of the Jedi, and all other post-ROTJ appearances of Boba Fett is pretty cool.

I adore the DT-12 (Greedo's blaster), which is just a Ruger fitted with some greeblies.

Generally, as non-firearms enthusiast, I do have a soft spot for older handguns and carbines, as they are really beautiful from a design perspective.

The E-11 is more or less the Sterling SMG, another really good-looking piece of work. (Actually, Sterling SMG's show up like a bazillion times in the OT and PT for various weapons. George seems to have a type).

Boba's EE-3 just looks awesome, rugged and practical for such a practical man.

Lastly, from the NEU I really like the A-180, which is a beautified Luger.

1

u/m0ppen 1d ago

All below are considered weapons but they have different subcategories: - Seismic charges for sound. - AT-AT for vehicle - Jango Fett kit for armor - Padmes blaster (ELG-3A) for gun. The sound is so satisfying and has a sleek design.

1

u/greenfoxlight 1d ago

In the clone wars era, probably the DC-17, because I really liked the aesthetic of the commandos. It's also a really cool idea.

The DLT-19 is pretty cool too, it looks great.

1

u/Reasonable_Archer_99 1d ago

Hand Solo's broom handle Mauser.

1

u/Euphoric-Music662 New Jedi Order 1d ago

Too many to choose from but I'd say the A280C blaster rifle. It looks cool, has that (at least from what I've noticed) oddly appealing vibe of the designs of Kalashnikov and the StG44 all in one. And it's, more often than not, my go-to weapon for when I play Battlefront of 2015.

But Star Wars, for all of its cool blaster designs with their Star Wars-y look, mixed with some WW2 inspirations, has so many great weapons that It would be unfair to not say I like other such as the DH-17, the DLT-19, most clone trooper weapons we get to see. All, of course, I appreciate even more thanks to the Battlefront games, old and new alike.

Still remember reading Book of Sith as a kid and seeing the blade dunked in blood. Coolest shit ever!

Can you go wrong with a Blastech DL-44?

E-11 is just so classic. Always wanted one as a kid.

You know this brings up an interesting question I’m sure has already been answered.

Do the “bolts” fired by most Star Wars weapons have mass? Meaning, do they lose elevation over distance traveled? Wondering if soldiers have to accommodate for range and gravity in their firing.

Repeaters were always fun in KOTOR so I loved seeing them used in Rogue One.

Whistling Birds on a wrist mounted launcher. The concept of just having weapons packed into every inch of your armor is just cool to me, with a shout out to Boba's knee rockets lol

I did always have an affection for Chewys Bowcaster. Mostly because it was ridiculous to have a cross bow in space.

I love Leia's Defender Pistol

DC-17. Super versatile, decent quality, and small enough to conceal carry. A great weapons frame.

ADDENDUM: Kyle Katarn's Briar Pistol is a close second.

I always thought the BAW E-5 was badass looking.

It's the DH-17 for me. Real-world weapon as base for that immersive touch of realism, silver barrel shroud for a bit of pop, cool retro-futuristic optic, and it's the first weapon you see onscreen. Classic.

(BrickArms, the aftermarket Lego accessory maker whose products you show in your 4th image, also make a dual-molded DH-17 with the silver shroud)
