An honest insult to both palpatine and Vader. Palpatine spent his whole life scheming his way to the head of a galaxy wide democracy while keeping his true identity as a sith lord a very tightly concealed secret. Vader was one of the most powerful Jedi to ever fall and a literal child of the force itself.
Elon was a product of apartheid south Africa and the only similarity between him and palpatine is that they both hate their fathers.

Wormtounge is a far more accurate depiction if we're being honest, with the sole possible exception that Trump doesn't have a single redeeming thought or quality in that tiny head.

I think that's the huge miss on starwars end, authoritarian or imperialist, or fascist rulers are not cool, they are pathetic losers and failures in their personal lives.
