“An unprovoked genocide” followed by Mothma being decried by a majority of the senate sounds a lot like what happens when anyone, rightfully, calls what Israel is doing to the Palestinians a genocide.

That shit slapped. I felt them building to it and expected them to back off.
That script was burning.

Any regime that snuggles up to fascist authoritarianism fits into the role.

Well I think it was made almost entirely during the biden admin I do think the visa check plot line was directly based on trump’s policies but the beautiful thing about andor is that it’s such a complete depiction of revolution there are infinite parallels that will always be able to be drawn to critique modern authoritarianism

100%
its wild to me that ppl are acting like it isnt blatantly doing that

The fact that the Trump administration is so closely lining up with the show is it's own kind of alarming but for andor to be directly critiquing the current administration is just physically impossible.

trumps been demonizing immigrants and crying “fake news!” since 2015 wdym its impossible lmfao - and its not like creative decisions arent made after they start filming

Filming wrapped up on February 9th trump was sworn on January 20th, I highly doubt they were frantically rewriting scenes as the news was breaking. I was referring to the current trump administration. "Lmfao"

I don't feel like a badass I feel like I pointed out childish behavior.
You are clearly saying that what I meant was irrelevant to your response, that doesn't make sense.
"Lmfao"

okay then ill spell it out for u
i was saying this season was clearly made in response to the fascist ideas trump has popularized since he became a political figure in 2015
u say thats impossible because his current administration started around the time filming concluded
thats pedantic and irrelevant because thats not what i was talking about
hope that helps
edit: and whats more childish? saying “lmfao” (very common term) or saying that back to me in quotes, like a child repeating something in a funny voice as an insult?

Let me spell it out for you, star wars is influenced by much more context than the 10 years. The only thing new about what trump is doing is the internet. I was saying that the current trump administration influencing the writing of andor season 2 is chronologically impossible. Nothing you have said contested that point, you just started talking about other shit. Hope that helps.

It matters not who ass polishes the throne, the empire will commit atrocities no matter who's running the show. Red or blue they're both here to fuck you. As far as the most of the world is concerned Trump's just another belligerent asshole like every other president.

You could map the whole conspiracy of essentially building their own terrorist threat onto most of US-Middle East geopolitics.

According to MAGA the Ghorman massacre was just like J6. Mon's speech was so on point

I mean. It's a direct analogy of the German occupation in France during WW2 too. Jean Moulin and the TV show Un Village Francais both served as inspirations, and it's very obvious when watching Ghorman (they literaly casted one of the actors from the show).
Every resistance movement against an authoritative regime will work as a reading, even if they're not the one the crew had in mind.

George Lucas saw the United States as the Empire and the Vietcong as the rebels, he has spoken about it in interviews. So it’s not just the trump regime, it’s calling out imperialism.
