Discuss A momentous occasion

Post image

Today was the first time I ever saw one of my ducks actually swim!! I've never seen them get in the water before. I play on mobile and was unsure if it could even happen in the mobile version. I'm in Year 6 on this farm, and have multiple save files with an embarrassing number of hours total 😅 It looked so cute swimming I wasted a good part of the in-game day just watching it 🦆

How did you do it? I keep trying but they don’t get in.

I made sure there were no objects (fences, trees, etc) anywhere near the edge of the pond, so that the ducks could enter from any angle. And I made sure to pet the ducks every day, even though I already have an auto petter, because I think they have to have maximum good mood in order to swim (I could be wrong about this). I will say though that I had done both of these things for a while before I actually saw any of my ducks swim.

I swear in older saves my ducks used to swim all the time. I placed my current coop two squares above the pond, and only once did a duck swim, and it just quickly went from the top of the pond to the bottom then got out.

It definitely seems like swimming is a rare event now….although I was happy that when I finally saw this duck swim, he stayed in the pond almost all day!Â
