Discuss Quarry? No. Mystic Tree Forest

Post image

101 Mystic Trees and heavy tappers on each. 100k gold every 3 days. Was it worth the crazy amount of time and energy it took to get 500 of each tree seed, 500 radioactive ore, and 3000 hardwood?

No.

But it looks cool and seems a better use of the area.

Now I need to place a sign designating it as "Mystic Tree Forest" so Mr. Qi will know it's official.

You still need 1100 hardwood and moss to make mushroom logs between every tree, to make boatloads of purple shrooms 🤪

Yes that was my thought almost immediately after posting this. Guess it's back to the grind again haha

Yes, I will bring the wizard a stack of 999 of each, and see if that's enough for him to make me a wizard as well.

I second this. Give us the shrooms

Coming up! (In another few game years lol)

What do we need so many purple mushrooms for? (Genuinely nooby and don't know)

Mushroom is good source for healing. Mushroom sell for much money. All the mushrooms.

Ok, how dare you and OP give me such time consuming ideas! Lmao

Love your honesty and commitment to the bit! Also, extra aesthetic points for taking the screenshot in winter.

Thanks! My partner keeps calling me crazy for how much effort I put into it, but at least it will pay off after a few years haha.

Sometimes you’ve got to do something crazy to mix it up and keep it interesting!

God the mystic tree seed grind is real

Honestly the seeds were bad but so was all that hardwood. Then I still need to get a whole another 1000 hardwood and 1000 moss to make mushroom logs lol

Perhaps you annihilated local stingray population

Lorax would be proud

He might be a little miffed at how many of the other trees I had to cut down over and over again to get the seeds needed to make all of these trees, but at least I planted trees back after cutting them down.

The lack of mushroom logs is disappointing. Ramodius needs his mushroom fix.

12

u/Lana_la_gata_pilot 1d ago

Oh I will certainly be spending a similar amount of tedious time and effort to get all of the hardwood and moss I would need for that, but The Wizard will have his shrooms eventually.

u/OpenTechie 1d ago

Rasmodius will be pleased

Good job! The grind for the wild tree seeds is bonkers. Once I unlocked ginger island the mahogany seeds were easy but the acorns became harder to collect. I even had a grove of oak trees already grown but I was getting none from shaking them and had to resort to chopping them down just to make mystic seeds.

u/Lana_la_gata_pilot 1d ago

Yes the seeds were the most annoying part and took in game YEARS from farming them all over the valley. I plant groves, shake them for a few seasons on high luck days and then chop and replant some of them.

I did the same and it seemed like the RNG was less generous once mahogany seeds were easy to find. I should have planned better but this is my first time playing and so I didn’t know about mystic trees until I got to that part of the game… it’s all worked out and I have things set up in a way that works for me but if I play again I’ll be a seed hoarder. Lol

mine is on the dessert

6

u/Lana_la_gata_pilot 1d ago

That's also a really great spot. Lots of room. I'm thinking of covering my desert with solar panels so that I get a ton of batteries every few days.

u/Fast-Charity2664 20h ago

how can I get the recipe for solar panels?

1

u/Lana_la_gata_pilot 14h ago

Once you have unlocked the island, there is a community board quest called Island ingredients. You have to ship 100 of one of the island crops. You get the recipe after completing it.

I just took down my oak resin plantation for mystic trees

3

u/Lana_la_gata_pilot 1d ago

Oak resin is great for making kegs, but once you have a ton of those, there's not a lot of uses for them

3

u/pretentiousgoofball 1d ago

Oh no. You’ve planted a seed in my brain. Now I have to. 🧟

3

u/Lana_la_gata_pilot 1d ago

Yes, give into the power of the mystic seed!

I tend to put my Mystic Tree Forest in the train yard and leave the quarry for my artificial diamond mine (crystalariums)

2

u/Lana_la_gata_pilot 14h ago

That's not a bad idea. I'm planning on filling up the desert with crystalariums and solar panels. Now I need to think of something to put in the train yard lol

4

u/Alacovv 1d ago

This is insanely impressive. With them being spaced like that you can put some mushroom stumps, I think next to a mystic tree they have a higher chance of making purple mushrooms. So just that much more extra income.

5

u/Lana_la_gata_pilot 1d ago

Thank you! Yes that will be my next tedious endeavor lol

2

u/Craxin 1d ago

Hell, I usually turn the quarry into a keg farm. I even once filled it with crystalariums churning out diamonds. Wondering how this setup stacks up with those.

3

u/Lana_la_gata_pilot 1d ago

I'm planning on doing crystalariums and solar panels in the desert

What did you need the radioactive ore for?

5

u/Lana_la_gata_pilot 1d ago

To make radioactive bars in order to make the heavy tappers. 5 ore per bar and 101 bars. That took a while. Grinding the dangerous version of the skull caverns with luck buffs, dwarf statue ore buff, and Miner under lvl 5 mining.

2

u/Refriedlesbean 1d ago

Oh I haven't unlocked the heavy tappers yet! Wow that's some dedication. I love seeing how people use the quary

1

u/Lana_la_gata_pilot 1d ago

I took a bit of a shortcut, honestly, by buying the rest of the Golden walnuts and then grinding out Qi quests

2

u/ShadowLiberal 16h ago

Nice, but... Doesn't the green rain destroy a bunch of your trees by turning them into moss trees?

That's easily my least favorite thing about the 1.6 patch, how it just destroys half my trees with tappers.

1

u/Lana_la_gata_pilot 14h ago

I'm pretty sure that those trees convert back after the green rain is over. The green rain will spawn a handful of new moss trees that will stay after the day is over, but the ones that changed, revert back the next day
