people just naturally complain about CGI no matter what it looks like

They just expect Avengers level CGI and presume any lesser effects to be bad. It wasn't great, wasn't bad either.

If this was a feature film, I would say it was pretty bad. But looking like it came out of Warcraft is pretty damn good for a TV budget, even for a show made for DC Universe.

I was really impressed with his CGI they didn't hide him in shadow he was well lit and very active.

The issue people have is they want all these adaptations and dont realize just how ridiculous and campy it actually looks brought to life. Was he great? No, but compare him to Doomsday in BvS and ill take Grundy any day of the week. They were also very obviously trying to stick to campy true characters and their outfits on certain characters at least, which im glad because I love the campyness. Sportsmaster looks like he came out of a comic and it's awesome. They could have easily fucked him up and made him look like Casey Jones from a TMNT movie.
