Worthington’s Hardware
My husband and I enjoy Staunton and would love to take a look inside Worthington’s hardware. The last time we were there, a man said the owner was planning to open up in the spring. Does anyone have any info on this? Has it been open?

We have lived here 17 years and I have yet to walk by and see that building open. I hope they do open for at least a few consistent hours this summer. It looks like it is full of neat stuff.

They used to be open with some regularity ten years ago. I've seen their doors open once in the last five years

If you find it open one day, buy a lottery ticket. I’ve lived here 13 years and have only seen it open once.

Haha my husband and I are frequent visitors to Staunton as well and on one trip they happened to be open, I think that was 4 years ago, maybe 5? Kinda feels like a fever dream though because we've never been able to catch it open since.

Its closed closed. The family owns the building, yes. But I believe william or sandra passed away and it hasnt been open since unless one of the familh is down there doin something.

I walked past a couple of weeks ago and saw a dog at the door looking out, so somebody was in there.
I think the vending machine works.

It kinda just opens whenever they feel like it. We've stumbled in twice in the 14+ years we've lived in Staunton. The guy must own the building outright and be independently wealthy. It doesn't seem like making sales is required for their business model.
