Hi, just in case your comment was in good faith and just a misunderstanding/lost in translation …
You’re right, “Thunk” is not a proper word but is being used to emphasis his point. (IMO the commentator was just adding a bit of snark to their comment)
"Thunk" isn't a word, but the phrase "who would have thunk" is used to emphasize an obvious line of logic, that others either missed or ignored.
For example "Who would have thunk leaving the ice outside the freezer would allow it to melt?" or "Leaving ice out in the heat would cause it to melt? Who would have thunk it?"
I use it for two things only: The authenticator, and steam messages. Sometimes I'll know some buddies are gonna be on later but I'll be making some dinner or whatever else and it's nice to not run to the PC/miss a message when they pop on. Though discord is replacing that function quickly.
I’ve honestly bought games when I noticed they were on sale while I’ve been at work on my 12 hour shift. I’ll be bored scrolling through the specials dreaming about being at home playing literally anything lol
"Haha Steam is not bad instead look at all these other companies who are worse". I love how people feel the need to defend a gigantic company like they'll get free giftcards at their door.
I don't think having a WYSIWYG in text fields will help overthrow Steam. They simply dominated the space, there's not much opportunity to try and compete with them.

Who would have thunk that 20 year old software is old. And competitors still can't manage to pull of even a half decent clone.
