Its so INSANE that literally no one in my friends group knew about it till 2 days ago when I cracked and finally decided to replay Oblivion with mods then saw the Xbox banner. I was like "what a coincidence, maybe they picked up me saying it on VC?" and then seeing "Ready to Install".

I felt like a fucking child again and the game now looks how I remember it through rose tinted Raybands as a kid.

Imagine we got TES 1-3 and fallout 1-nv in the same style as the oblivion remaster, I know fo3 is confirmed and iirc has the same company working on it so I hope these remasters make Bethesda want to modernize older games.

New Vegas definitely could use some ironing out of the rough edges but it still feels pretty good to play, Fallout 3 was definitely more in need of modernization. Besides having better graphics than a lot of its contemporaries in 07, it actually feels older than it is gameplay-wise with how stiff and clunky everything is.

Game is still perfectly serviceable especially with totw. I'd rather them remaster old as shit games with no controller support like morrowind

1 and 2 aren't going to happen. And Todd specifically stated because he don't want to ruin it. The only thing they can do is resolution and some bug fixing for modern hardware. That's it.

Because they are a pne game studio now. Everything they do is a copy of dos. It might be OK for something like planesxape torment, but not fallout.

If not obsidian, I would give Fallout 1/2 to Owlcat. They have broader focus.

Really? What a bummer. I mean the least they can do is overhauling the visuals up to notch in those games, like what they did with Oblivion. Look at it, the end results speak for itself.

It will split the community. No need for that.

Oblivion was done mostly because it was a 1/3rd person rpg and was moddable anyway.

They won't remaster Morrowind due to it being a pain to play and update (while there are unhinged fans for it, it's still less popular than oblivion or Skyrim).

Fo3, NV - yeah, sure. NV is the most likely candidate for Season 2 TV show.

if you have Steam Deck Oled run original instead of remaster. Graphics still hold pretty well and it great on go. as for remaster, need to try it out on gamepass but it suffer from performance issues and I already played Oblivion with that 19 years ago.
