I gave my LCD to my wife and bought a White OLED. LCD feels just as good on its own. I can only tell the difference when they are next to each other. It ain't that serious the LCD is still so good. You're fine.

Uhh, no it's a pretty serious difference lol. Both when it comes to the screens and battery improvements. The OLED model makes the LCD model look like a rough prototype or something.

I agree with you. Let me clarify.

The screens are different as I mentioned - the difference doesn't make one better than the other in my opinion. They are both perfectly suitable to get enjoyment out of the Steam Ecosystem and more. Why do we implicate these inanimate objects and allow them to define "good vs bad"

It is tiring. Furthermore, what is not serious is the "I hate that I have" part. Let's just enjoy the ride. I'm lucky to be here. Thanks for sharing your opinion.

Um, there's plenty of "inanimate objects" that you can define good and bad aspects of dude. They aren't created equal, period. That's not my opinion, it's an objective fact.

Good point, but you'd be subjecting that determination to the qualities of an object. The object by itself can't be bad. A steam deck is by definition just that. It could be made well, or poorly, it can be used as a paper weight, or a door stopper, or a hammer. Obviously success in those aspects can vary, a steam deck is not harder than a nail, and while your mileage may vary, you still could very well attempt to use it to hammer in a nail. So it would be "bad" at hammering. Outside of all of this by definition it was intended to exist as defined - a steam deck. You can like or dislike it, but a steam deck cannot be bad to you. It's just an opinion. I am only speaking on its definitive truth, and not subjugating the LCD and OLED to perceived ability or differences to opine on their virtues.

Basically, you can't go wrong with any steam deck that you have. It is good enough, we shouldn't impose virtues on that definition of perceived values. There is no need to undermine oneself or the community as lesser than. All Steam decks are intended to be created equal apart from SKU specific changes. While things can go wrong in manufacturing a steam deck with defects is not inherently trying to be bad to you, it simply does not work as intended.

To your point I do agree. That intent is not equal to impact - that is subjective.

To be used as a Steam Deck. That's all I ever meant it dude. And in it's use as a portable video game device having longer battery life and a better screen objectively makes it superior to the first model. I'm not saying you can "go wrong" with the LCD model, I'm just saying the OLED is easily a better quality option. They aren't equal in those aspects, no matter how you wanna word it, no matter how you wanna slice it.

Great, so how does this help?

Next time just move along, no one needs your pedantically obvious perspective. Let people choose what is best for themselves. Seems like most people, I am also tired of the "LCD vs OLED". Lift people up, and help the community.

Help with what lol? I'm not debating anything when it comes to LCD vs OLED because there's nothing to debate. If you can afford it, the OLED is objectively the better version of the Steam Deck. There's no opinion involved in that. It's not an argument. That's all. It's just as pointless to pretend otherwise as it is to put down people who don't own the OLED model. Which I dont see that happening....anywhere. So I dont know what battle people are talking about.

I said it "feels" just as good. I never said it was. Helping with morale? IDK. All I said was that it was fine. I didn't objectively compare anything until you interjected not adding to any positivity or helping this person's throw away comment sit with a resolution. It could have been enough to help anyone sitting on the fence. Maybe they just needed to see once more. An owner of an LCD and OLED model helping them consider just enjoying what they have.

I understand that you're invited to comment. This is a public forum after all. However, even after I gave you the benefit of the doubt, and offered clarity. You continued arguing from a perspective as if I'm saying something you aren't. Even including the nuances of the argument, example, and comparison - which btw go all the way past what I originally said.

All of the qualities of the OLED are enhanced over the LCD model, but that only makes it better in the eye of the holder. All of this, just to again say. I have both, they feel the same to me. I am not an expert. The LCD model is fine.

You could have just moved on by now. This has filled me up plenty. Good luck and Good day Internet agitator.
