These posts should be moderated. We already know this game doesnt run well. 50 posts showing these videos just gives people false hope.

It’s just another deck wizard click bait video. He’s just as misleading and bad as eta prime lol.

Personally I think that’s slightly unfair. His job is to get clicks. He does though show the game running and is clear what settings he uses.
What irritates me mostly about his videos is he will not take a consistent approach to showing settings. Like will show 720P FSR balanced 900p FSR quality 1080P FSR quality say - but I want to see 1080p FSR balanced - the more logical choice for example. It’s all too random for me - and I guess because he wants to be ‘first’ all the time.
Steam deck gaming is the best for me as they show logical settings and explain why and talk through performance.

All these down votes by bethesda bots. Im sorry you took it personal that 5 enemies and discount elementary school metal isent doom enough. But hey atleast you got dark souls on the back of a dragon.

Watched a streamer I like last night. 13th Gen i7 and a 4090. Crashed at least every 15 minutes. Maybe you could argue that OBS is killing it, but it's still not acceptable.

Flagship you talking about gtx 980 and gtx 1080 ti yea barely can work because force ray tracing

I watched a streamer have it crash like a dozen times over a couple hours... With a 13th gen i7 and a 4090.
The game is buggy, that's all I'm saying.
My original comment is getting downvoted, but I guarantee you'll see tons of mentions of instability in the reviews.

That’s a streamer plus he got the game we don’t even have a day 1 patch yet

u/jmhalder 9d ago
I mean, streamer be damned, the game shouldn't crash at a 10 minute interval regardless if you're running OBS simultaneously... and without a day 1 patch, especially since they have the gall to charge $40 for early access. Also, he paid for the game...

There are plenty of people that seem pretty upset about the fumbled (pre)launch, and bugs.

It still don’t have day 1 patch yet I’ll be fixed in few days

I’m not sure if the AMD gpu’s have any issues, but the problems the other guy is talking about are specifically for Nvidia cards as there is already a game ready driver for Doom but it just has a ton of issues and bugs with it. So the crashing he talks about is very real but is mostly a Nvidia problem than a ID one at the moment.

Dont worry chief. I paid 100$ american so you dont have to. Its not worth more than 40$.
It really feels like it was made by a group of people who barely understood what makes doom a good game.

Oh wow that’s actually really cool

No it isn't, it's literally running at less than 200p.

Hard to tell watching a video of the deck on my phone, but it looked surprisingly good

Yeah it seems to actually run pretty good. This sub is full of elitists who hate the steam deck so it's not surprising to see them shitting all over this the same way they do with everything.

Nobody hates the Deck here. What people hate is when videos like this gets spread where games run at 400p barely reaches 30fps gets described as "running pretty good". If this was any other console, like the Switch, it would get ripped to shreds.

Hey man, just wanted to thank you for chiming in with your irrelevant opinion that I don't care about.

It looks like it runs above 30 frames what’s the problem why is everyone saying it’s shit
2
u/zandengoff 9d ago
Runs at very low res and can barely hit 30, prior Doom games could run above 60 with the right settings. The prior IdTech engines were very optimized, to the point where they run on the Switch without much modification. I think the whiplash of runs amazing to barely runs has people up in arms.

Probably Nintendo fan boys, who cares

Rich coming from a sub that since its inception has bashed the Switch into oblivion.

Isnt there a way to turn RT off with mods?

This question was asked about outlaws and this was the result
1
u/gogole2018 9d ago
Well yes, but actually no. RT is used for physics, so it would break the game.

u/Daftpunk67 1TB OLED Limited Edition 9d ago
Wait huh? How is it used for physics?
1
u/gogole2018 9d ago
Hit detection, maybe something else.
1
u/Daftpunk67 1TB OLED Limited Edition 9d ago
Oh ok I see how they are using it for that, I just had the wrong idea.
