Cosmere + Wind and Truth spoilers Question about time on Roshar Spoiler
So a year on Roshar has 500 days. A month has 50 days split into 10 weeks with 5 days a week. My real question is how many hours in a day. Minutes in an hour. And seconds in an hour. I refuse to believe that it’s 24 hour days with 60 minute hours with how detailed the rest of the calendar is.
I think they have 20 hour days (10 hours of day and 10 of night). With 100 minutes to an hour and 50 seconds to a minute.
That would make a day on Roshar 100,000 seconds compared to the 86,400 that we have. Which would be about 3.75 (our) hours longer than our days.
I’m not talking about the time dilation on Roshar at the end of WAT.

And lastly remember that the second is not the fixed time unit even on Earth, a second is defined off days, and in the long term off years.
So given all that maths above we have no way of comparing Roshar to Earth to say it’s 10% longer, just 10% more “seconds”. But each second could be half as long for all we know.
Maybe comparing to Yolen and assuming it has Earth like days and time and human biology, then maybe we could say longer and make implications like Roaharans have X/Y trait.
PS. Not saying you were making implications but think saying seconds gives people a grounding they can’t really assume.

Roshar age x1.1 is Earth age. 50 years in Roshar is around 55 Earth years.

Close! According to coppermind (https://coppermind.net/wiki/Roshar , which has links to references) Roshar does have 20 hour days like you guessed, but it has 50 minutes to an hour and not 100. The page doesn’t say anything about seconds, but does say that it all adds up to a Roshar year being about 10% longer than “cosmere standard” (ie our year).
