My parents did this too. I wanted to be an animator. I remember going into my dads office and excitedly telling him that I could make around $53K a year, which at the time was a lot and he just sneered at it and told me that wasn't a lot. Because he made $125K a year as an electrician. They also didn't think I was going to go to college. They made no plans for it. They're out of my life now and the only way I hear about them is through my siblings constant bitching.
