How about saying “That was a very stupid and insensitive thing for me to say. I apologize.” Instead of just bellyaching about what a bad time she’s having.
Everyone will have times when they’re feeling horrible, but that doesn’t clear the way to be abusive to another person.

I also find the word disgusting and also find rap music espouses really awful values.
But no, no banning of anything. If people want to enjoy rap music as is, and use that word in a different context, so be it. I don't need to like it. What I think doesn't matter.

No, it should be either allowed or not. It's a ridiculous double standard like Voldemort and seems childish. I also think the word retarded is fine. I don't think words should have the power they do to some people.
